Hi, I’m Joanna. I grew up in Australia living a very outdoorsy life surrounded by dogs, horses, and the occasional cat or three. Animals have always been part of my day‑to‑day, and that’s carried through to my life here in Oxfordshire. I share my home with my husband & Poppy, our friendly, neutered black Labrador (4.5 years old). We rescued her at 11 months, and she’s wonderfully sociable with other dogs — playful, gentle, and happy to share her space. ⭐ Your dog’s comfort & routine, I work from home part‑time, so your dog will have plenty of company and supervision throughout the day. My husband works full‑time away from the house, so it’s a calm environment with lots of one‑to‑one attention. Your dog will have their own separate room available if they prefer a quiet space to settle, nap, or decompress — especially helpful for anxious or first‑time boarders.I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual feeding schedule, provide food if needed, and I’m experienced in administering medication. You’ll receive photos and updates so you can relax knowing your dog is happy and settled. ⭐ Walks, play & social time; We live in Finstock with access to beautiful walks, including Cornbury. I take dogs on two proper walks a day, adjusting length and pace to suit your dog’s needs. Poppy loves toys and ball games, and your dog is welcome to join in — or enjoy quieter enrichment if that suits them better.If your dog enjoys socialising, we can meet friendly local dogs on the village playing field for group play. ⭐ Our home & garden: We have a small, fully fenced back garden with a hatch, so your dog always has access to a safe toileting area. Dogs are welcome on the furniture, and we have spare beds, blankets, and toys so they can make themselves at home. You’re very welcome to bring your dog’s own bed or favourite items to help them settle with familiar smells. ⭐ Calm, consistent care; Because I work from home, I’m rarely out for long periods. If your dog is anxious, needs extra reassurance, or takes a couple of days to settle, I’m happy to stay in and keep their routine steady. Just let me know what your dog enjoys or doesn't and I will do my best to provide it.

Joanna looked after Bailey brilliantly. He really loved playing with Poppy. Joanna provided us with daily updates and photos which left us with full reassurance Bailey was being really well cared for particularly during a very hot period of weather. I would highly recommended Joanna.
Joanna looked after Louie perfectly - he clearly had a great time and settled in well with Joanna's dog Poppy. Louie got lots of walks, playtime and attention and Joanna sent regular photos and updates. I would highly recommend Joanna.

We were really happy to leave Clemmie with Joanna for 4.5 weeks while we were visiting family in Australia. Joanna sent plenty of photos and videos which were very reassuring when we were so far away, Clemmmie was in lovely condition when we collected her and she loved having Joanna’s dog Poppy to play with. Joanna was fantastic, very good communication and wonderful with our dog Moyo. Moyo is naturally quite nervous and Joanna handled this very well prioritising making him comfortable and at home. He has come home happy and more confident. She is flexible. Great sitter, thank you!

Schedule
I work part-time from home and have a very friendly 3‑year‑old black Labrador. My husband is out at work during the day. I live in a small village with plenty of walks available and am at home most of the day. If I am out, there is a flap so your dog can enter or exit our small fenced back garden at their convenience. I have recently received a promo code from Rover which gives first time users £15 off. It is https://www.rover.com/sit/joannr10511 I usually take my dog, Poppy, for a long walk of about an hour late morning, followed by a shorter, more sociable walk in the evening, often to the village playing field where other dogs are playing. I do a mixture of on‑ and off‑lead walking but am flexible to your dog’s needs. Please note: Doggie Day Care is based on an 8‑hour slot (typically 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Additional hours may incur extra charges.

Safety, trust & environment
Access to all areas of the house. Dogs are not allowed on our bed but are welcome on the furniture. We have a fenced back garden with a flap so your dog can enter and exit at leisure. There are plenty of toys, including a tennis ball thrower that our dog will be happy to demonstrate. We live near Cornbury, so there are many lovely walks available. Dogs can be fed separately as our own dog has her own small bedroom. I can administer medication if needed. Please feel free to ask any questions or arrange a visit. I usually like to do a 24‑hour trial.

A typical day
There are many walks close by, which I like to vary. I usually take a long walk late morning, followed by a shorter one in the evening. My dog, Poppy, is very ball‑obsessed, so we often play ball on the village playing field before dinner. In the mornings, we tend to walk around the fields and through Cornbury Park, both on and off lead.
