Pet care experience

I'm a dog whisperer!

Hey, fellow dog lovers! I’m Joanna, and I’m thrilled to bring my lifelong passion for dog care to you. Growing up with dogs since I was 7, they’ve always held a special place in my heart. Over the years, I’ve cared for countless pups—whether fostering homeless dogs or loving my own fur babies. After recently saying goodbye to my last dog, I’m eager to fill that space by offering my services to fellow pet owners. Whether it's a day or a longer stay, I’m here to provide your dog with the love and attention they deserve. I love long walks in the Pentland Hills and I am happy to accommodate any special needs your dog might have—dietary or otherwise. You can relax knowing your furry friend will be pampered in a safe, loving environment. I'm a dog sitter now for nearly a year, please check my reviews or send me a DM if you have questions. Let’s make your dog’s time with me as joyful as possible!

Joanna looked after our dog for five nights, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met her, it was clear how caring, knowledgeable, and genuine she is with dogs. Throughout our holiday, Joanna kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which was incredibly reassuring. Seeing how happy, relaxed, and well cared for our dog was gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to fully enjoy our family holiday without worrying. When we collected him, he was clearly happy, healthy, and had obviously been treated like one of the family. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Joanna again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog boarder. Thank you again, Joanna – you were fantastic!

Doggy Day Care • Jul 27, 2026

Lochie spent two days for doggy daycare with Joanna. He had a great time playing football with her son and was so excited to see her again the next day. She was so helpful and accommodating!

We cannot thank Joanna and her son enough for the love and care they gave Tigger when we needed a pet sitter. Thank you, for the bottom of our hearts.

Schedule

I work in a hybrid format—2 days from home and 3 in the office—so I’m available to offer dog daycare on my home-office days. Even if my calendar shows limited availability, don’t hesitate to message me, as I’m often flexible. My kids, aged 11 and 13, have grown up with dogs and are very gentle and well-mannered around animals. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced garden, three parks, and the Water of Leith Walk nearby. I can take short breaks anytime during the day to meet a dog’s needs. I’m also happy to cook for a dog to accommodate any dietary requirements. For hyperactive dogs, I can provide plenty of toys and energy-burning activities. Depending on the dog’s personality and needs, I’m happy to visit enclosed dog fields, and I would never let them run freely near any potential hazards.

A typical day

A typical day with your dog starts with an energizing morning walk, exploring the nearby park and canal while enjoying the fresh air. Once we’re back home, we’ll have fun with fetch and interactive games to keep both mind and body active. Around midday, we take a relaxing break, then head out for a short walk to stretch our legs and have a good sniff around the neighbourhood. In the afternoon, we go for another longer walk, discovering new sights and sounds while getting plenty of exercise. As the day winds down, a final gentle stroll helps us unwind before settling in for some well-deserved cuddle time.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs I should consider—I’m happy to adapt to whatever they require. If your pup is in training, tell me so I can help keep their good habits and routines on track. I do allow dogs on the sofa, so if you’d prefer they don’t, just let me know in advance.
