Safety, trust & environment
I know how important it is to trust that your home is being looked after too. So, whilst staying with your pet, I will ensure that your home is kept clean and tidy, and promise to leave it the way that I found it. I swear to take extra care of your home and your critter as if they were my own. I'm very used to "puppy-proofing" rooms from years of practice! As for boarding, my flat has a balcony and is on the 4th floor so isn't ideal for pets that are used to outdoor space at home or puppies who haven't been potty-trained yet. It would be perfect for indoor cats! I have ventilators on my windows so can keep them shut for your pet's safety and am currently adding a chicken wire barrier to the balcony to avoid accidents. I also have an electric fan for hot weather. I don't mind having pets on furniture or in my bed if that's what they are used to. Who doesn't love a midnight cuddle with their critter?😸 I am happy to take your pet outside for walks and toilet breaks as often as they need (the stairs are great exercise!)

Information Joanna D. would like to know about your pet
Before entering an agreement, I'd like to meet you and your pet beforehand to make sure that we all get along and to better understand any particular needs or behaviours that they have. Previously, I have worked with pets that have arthritis, heart murmurs, breathing issues, seperation anxiety and hip dysplasia, to name a few. I am always open to learning new ways to care for your furry friend. Sadly, I can't care for "giant" dogs (45kg+) or more than 1 "large" dog (18 - 45kg) at a time, as I'm fairly small and not very strong.
A typical day
I consider stimulation to be key in animal development and wellbeing but sadly find that many don't get as much as they need. I consider looking after your pet as a full-time job and will put all of my energy into their recreation. This includes playing games, socialising with humans and other animals (if appropriate) and spending lots of time outside to introduce them to fun and interesting stimuli. I have two wonderful parks near my home that are perfect for dog-walking and running around!

Reliable care when you’re not there🥰
Pet care experience
Hi there! Thank you for considering me to take care of your beloved pet. Having grown up on a farm, I've been caring for furry friends all of my life and absolutely adore doing so. I have approximately 20 years of experience cat-sitting and 12 years with dog-sitting for friends and family. This includes kittens and puppies so I'm extremely confident caring for both. If you choose me as your sitter, I can guarantee I'll give them 100% of my love and attention, and keep them safe and happy whilst you're away. I understand how hard it can be to leave your pets, but please rest assured that I make it my highest priority to care for, protect and love your furry friend with all of my heart.

Reviews

Joanna is wonderful! Louie had the best time with her while she took care of him. Amazing dog sitter

Both our dogs had a lovely weekend with Jo , lots of walks & fun activities. Jo was a delight to have in our home which she left immaculately clean & tidy . Jo is an ideal dog sitter whom I would highly recommend.

My first experience with a catsitter and Jo was everything I was expecting and more! Instantly put my mind at ease knowing that my cats were in safe hands, great daily updates and great communication. Will definitely rebook if you're available next time I go away :) Thank you Jo!

I had complete peace of mind leaving the dog and house in the capable hands of Joanna! She loves dogs, bonded really well with our 12 year old border collie and quickly worked out how to deal with the trickier sides of her personality. Joanna is completely reliable, provided us with regular updates of how our pet was doing and ensured the house was as we left it. We have already booked her in for more house-sitting!
