Welcome to Camp Joan for Pets!
As a pet owner for 40+ years, I was often stressed and frustrated with finding the right care for my 4 legged family members when I was away. Especially for my senior and shy dogs/cats who just couldn’t handle being at a traditional kennel. I’ve owned, raised and cared for a variety of furry friends in my life including cats, dogs, chickens, iguanas and horses. Camp Joan is a 80 acre pet paradise with a variety of trails for walks, only one person’s/family’s pets accepted at a time and a ramp if there are mobility issues. I have experience with senior dogs and cats, large and small dogs and medications. My goal is to provide a safe, relaxed, active and stimulating environment for my “campers” while they are visiting. Whether we’re out on walks, sitting around a campfire, hanging out on the couch or going for a ride, your “camper” will be loved and cared for.

Five stars for Joan! We couldn't ask for a better dog sitter. Joan makes sure Lucy gets tons of attention and one-on-one time, plenty of outdoor time, daily trail hikes, and cuddle time on the couch. It's clear that Lucy gets the VIP treatment with Joan. Joan also sends daily reports about how Lucy’s welfare and how she spent her day; these are often hilarious! Her messages come with wonderful photos; many look so good they could pass for professional shots. We come home to a happy, tired pup, and we get to enjoy the trip knowing she's in the best hands. We recommend Sue without hesitation!
As usual camp Joan was a perfect spot for Nick! Her daily updates comforted us as we were busy celebrating our son’s Wedding festivities. Nick gets excited when we’re bringing him close to Joan’s for his stay, he loves it there. Joan has put so much love and energy into getting to know Nick! They’re buddies❤️ we are grateful we have found the perfect spot for Nick when he needs a home away.

We feel very comfortable leaving Baxter with Joan. She does a wonderful job and Baxter loves being there!
Another great stay with Joan! Kona is obviously well taken care of and is tired from all the playing/hiking/outdoor time when she comes home. She loves her Joan time!!

Schedule
I’m recently retired and currently do not have any personal pets. This allows me to spend ample time with yours. Depending on your pets needs and your preferences, I include them in whatever I’m doing. If I need to run an errand they can come with me. If I’m outside they can be outside with me. This may not be applicable in the case of cat visitors.

Safety, trust & environment
My first priority is their safety and that they receive the care they need and deserve. Again, depending on your preferences, pets are welcome on the couch, have run of the house, will have plenty of walks/exercise, play time and fun. I would like to emphasize that I only accept one person/family’s pets at a time.
