I’m recently retired and currently do not have any personal pets. This allows me to spend ample time with yours. Depending on your pets needs and your preferences, I include them in whatever I’m doing. If I need to run an errand they can come with me. If I’m outside they can be outside with me. This may not be applicable in the case of cat visitors.

Welcome to Camp Joan for Pets!
Pet care experience
As a pet owner for 40+ years, I was often stressed and frustrated with finding the right care for my 4 legged family members when I was away. Especially for my senior and shy dogs/cats who just couldn’t handle being at a traditional kennel. I’ve owned, raised and cared for a variety of furry friends in my life including cats, dogs, chickens, iguanas and horses. Camp Joan is a 80 acre pet paradise with a variety of trails for walks, only one person’s/family’s pets accepted at a time and a ramp if there are mobility issues. I have experience with senior dogs and cats, large and small dogs and medications. My goal is to provide a safe, relaxed, active and stimulating environment for my “campers” while they are visiting. Whether we’re out on walks, sitting around a campfire, hanging out on the couch or going for a ride, your “camper” will be loved and cared for.

Joan is an absolute dream to have watch your loved ones. She was able to take me in on short notice and treated my pups so very well, I wish she had more availability!! Joan is caring, asks questions, texts pics and videos, responds timely, and truly cares about their well-being. My dogs are outdoor nature dogs and her place was the perfect haven for them both! They were happy and tired pups! Would recommend 100%!!
Thea had another wonderful stay! I got frequent updates, photos, and detailed messages that made it so much easier to relax while I was away. It was obvious Thea was getting lots of attention, exercise, affection, and individualized care — from hikes and outdoor time to belly rubs! I really appreciated how observant and communicative Joan was about Thea’s habits and personality, and it genuinely felt like Thea was treated like part of the family rather than just being boarded. She came home happy, comfortable, and very well cared for!
Joan is simply the very BEST dog sitter. We have a high energy dog, and she does everything possible to accommodate him. Nick definitely feels comfortable at her home. We felt comfortable to go cross country for an extended vacation and know our buddy was in the best possible care. Thank you Joan for loving and caring for Nick! He loves his time at Camp Joan's home in the woods!
