Love dogs all dogs!

Hi I had a cavalier for 13 years. I now am the neighborhood and family babysitter for dogs large and small. I have experience with large dogs but my specialty is small dogs. Each dog has a specific personality and am aware you need to understand their comfort level with strangers. I am excited to meet you and your pup and hope I can give you comfort knowing they will be well cared for.

Joan was so caring and careful with our senior dog who needs a lot of care. We know our dog will always be in the best of care with Joan. The updates provided several times a day with funny stories and photos was so reassuring! Would highly recommend and will use again.

Joan is an amazing dogsitter. She made Maggie feel right at home from the moment she arrived with a welcome sign. It was so nice to be away knowing our Maggie was receiving lots of hugs. Thank you Joan. Until next time :)

Joan has been our neighbor for 20 years and about 12 years ago we adopted our first dog. Immediately Joan came over with treats (having her own dog at the time) - she made fast friends with our pup and has several friends in the neighborhood. Joan also watches our dog when we go on vacation – it eases our mind to know our four-legged family member is with “Aunt Joan” and not at the kennel. Joan provides safety, exercise, love and treats when our dog stays with her. When our dog sees Aunt Joan outside her house, she runs to her to say “hello” and give her kisses. Sometimes she tries to follow Joan into her house, and we need to remind our dog we are going home, not visiting! When we do bring our dog over to stay with Joan, she wags her tail in anticipation and is happy to spend time with Joan and Joan’s family. We cannot recommend Joan enough – we actually don’t want to share her with anyone else! With Joan, you never have to worried about your pet…they will be taken care of as if they are part of Joan’s family.

Joan is a dog lover. Her most recent dog (now deceased) was like her child. She cares for her son and daughters dogs like they were members of her family. She is patient, careful and loving with all pets. Joan would be the " Mary Poppins" of pet caregivers (she'd be my first pick in an interview). She is absolutely trustworthy in your home and with your pets. She would take top notch care of them (over and above your expectations) and would, most likely, become another mom to them. I could not imagine another person I would recommend more highly than Joan to be responsible and loving for your pets.

I have known Joan M. for 35 years. She has every trait I would want in a pet sitter and quite frankly is probably the only person I would trust to take care of my own pets. Joan is beyond conscientious with everything she does and has always been that person who goes the extra mile. Animals gravitate to her as I truly believe they see all the goodness she possesses. When I'm looking for a pet sitter I want to know my family member has been left with someone who will care for them as I do, will know what to do in case of an emergency and I want someone who will be diligent about taking care of my pets specific and unique needs. She would be a huge asset to your organization!

Schedule

I am a retired nurse and will be home with your pet all day. I understand the importance of making sure you know your pet will be with someone who loves them.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have single family home. I do not have a fenced yard but would never let your pet out in a yard even if I did. I view safety as a priority. There are no other pets or children in my home to open doors or do harm. Morning afternoon and evening walks are always my routine. I do not use dog parks. Pets are allowed on my sofa and sleeping arrangements are whatever the pet prefers

A typical day

I have dog toys and a large lower level for running around. I understand doing zoomies is important to their activity. Going on walks for stimulation and exercise are important

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Takes only 1 client at a time
Joan can host up to 1 pet per night
I would have a list of questions to cover all physical and emotional needs to make certain their care needs are met. I would follow the home routine with food and exercise so their daily pattern of activity is maintained
