Pet care experience

Your pets come first! All Pets!

I've worked with animals most of my life! I have raised trained and shown dogs. 40 years in the Veterinary Field , now retired, and rescues. I Have worked with and owned birds, rodents, reptiles, and aquatics. (fish salamanders, turtles and I even own an Axolotle!) Your pets will be well cared for and loved, as they are all a part of who I am. In your home, I will also not only clean up after myself, but water your plants, collect your mail, and fill bird feeders if needed. Since Iv Just moved to Washington State, I am going to add Chickens and some small farm animals, as well as other exotics! Iv cared for many types of critters over the years! Unfortunatly, I can no longer care for the larger farm animals, but smaller are fine!

Safety, trust & environment

When I am in your home, I will need some time daily to run errands if needed. Essentially, I will do my best to stick to your pets normal routine, with a little extra spoiling and play time if allowed. No dog will be allowed off lead, when leaving house, unless you have good fencing and request it. All cats must remain indoors, unless the cat is specifically out door cat. I will need a written exclusion if it is. All caged animals must have clean and proper caging, depending on needs and length of stay, I can clean them for you. Aquatics shall be the same, I can change filters and treat, but not water changes.

Joan helped us with a last minute request to care for our sick dog within days of our vacation. Oakley had to be isolated due to kennel cough, and he was able to have his own staycation with Joan. Joan’s help brought us peace of mind, and allowed us to continue with our plans. Joan was communicative, sent pictures, and took care of the house. It’s clear she is a true lover of animals and took amazing care of Oakley.

Joanie spoiled and coddled my little nervous puppy dog, Sunshine. He warmed up to Joanie faster than he's warmed up to anybody. It was impressive!!! She was very attentive to Sunshine's special needs. She watered outside flowers so they wouldn't die during this heat wave. Joanie sent pictures and messages daily and has always responded very quickly. She's great!

Joan was great with our fur baby! She sent daily pictures and kept us updated the whole time, which we really appreciated. Our home was in prefect condition when we turned. It went so well we will be booking with her again - thanks Joan!

Joan provided great care for both my house and my 17-year-old dachshund during my four day trip. She kept me updated with daily messages and photos, ensuring peace of mind. My house was left in great shape, and my senior pup was happy and well-cared for. I will definitely be reaching out to her for future pet-sitting needs. Highly recommend Joan for anyone in need of a responsible and caring house sitter!

Joan did an outstanding job house sitting our dog.. She was an excellent communicator who responded promptly, professionally, and in a positive manner. She sent reports with pictures at least once a day. Joan was very sensitive to my concerns and to keeping my dog happy & reassured. I highly recommend Joan with confidence. She has a real heart for animals.

Joan took such good care of our 1 year old golden beagle Bojji. She asked questions about everything he would need, updated us when we needed, and met his exercise and attention needs. He was happy and tired when we returned after 2 days. Would certainly recommend her.

Schedule

I am retired, so I have alot of free time. I will need to have a little time, occasionally, if I stay in your home, to run an errand, to the store, appointment, or a few hours of charity work, but that's all, the rest of the time will be given to your pets needs. And they will not be alone for extended hours.

Please let me know all your dogs special needs. Medications, oral or injection, special foods, Potty habits, feeding times. Are they nervous or out going. Triggers? (Like storms, rain, loud noises ect.) All about feeding times. Reactions to other dogs on walks Talkers or quiet? I have worked with all kinds of personalities, but would like to know theirs before I come to your home, and how you handle special situations. We can talk over most of these when we do our meet and greet.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
