Pet care experience

Ruff to fluff

My friends may joke that I am a dog whisperer, but I really just love playing with dogs and teaching them tricks. I’m human; you’re dog; if you still got energy left at the end of a walk, get ready for a few blocks of sprint training 🤪. When I’m with you, you’re my responsibility. I will provide proper routine for the fur babies and give them LOTS of belly rubs! Consistency is key! I believe in training through repetition and love—reward over punishment with proper discipline and boundaries. I do require a meet and greet before any job, just to ensure that I feel comfortable with your furbaby and your furbaby is comfortable with me. Let me know what tricks you want me to work on, and I will give it my best love.

This is the 3rd time she’s watching my dog and she’s been amazing every time! Cookie usually needs time to acclimate to a new environment but she acclimated quickly to Jo!

Josephine is amazing with dogs! She has experience taking care of dogs of all different sizes and temperaments. She is warm and loving, and is also not afraid to set boundaries with your dog if that's something you value. Our dog is a 50 pound dog in NYC. Overall, he's a chill dog, but we have a few concerns about his behavior--especially with some of his behavior issues in the past. We didn't have the best experience with another dog sitter via Rover and have since felt uncomfortable leaving our dog in someone else's care. We rarely feel comfortable leaving him with just anyone, but feel extremely reassured when he's with Josephine. He's stayed with her multiple times, and each time, we feel so fortunate that Josephine takes such good care of our dog, while respecting his boundaries and maintains the structure he has at home. She makes sure your dog gets ample exercise and exposure, and goes the extra mile to make your dog (and you, the human!) comfortable. She's an extremely great communicator and makes sure to update you throughout your dog's stay with her. I can't recommended Josephine enough!

Schedule

I work full-time with a flexible 3-days hybrid schedule, and on my in office days, I will need to leave the dog at home for 6-8 hours. Daily schedule will likely be morning walk before 9am and evening walk after dinner with a bathroom break in the afternoon/before dinner.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in an apartment
Does not have a yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I cannot accept boarding requests for dogs exceeding 60lbs. My building has restrictions on dog sizes. If your dog needs a lot of indoor exercise, I won’t be able to provide that service due to the size of my apartment, but I have no issues with getting the exercise it needs outdoors. For a weekday, the dog will get 2 regular walks in the morning before breakfast and in the evening before bedtime. During the day, the dog will get a bathroom break/short walk before dinner. For a weekend day, the dog will get an extended walk before breakfast or dinner and, if permitted, visit to the dog park. If weather is bad, the dog will get more playtime when we’re home to ensure it gets to expend its energy and/oris properly stimulated. If the dog is into tricks, I may be able to build in some time to work on them.

A typical day

I love to take your dogs on walks and meeting new friends at dog runs (if your dog normally goes), and if you have an active dog, I may incorporate some jogging time as I am a runner myself, and we may even go on a mini hike. At home, we would just lounge while watching TV or reading together.
