Currently, I have a rather flexible schedule and often suffer from dog separation anxiety -- so it's in my best interest to be around your beloved dogs.

The dog shall stay in the fully-enclosed and well-ventilated kitchen/dining/work area (~200sqft). I often work in the same room, so the dog will not be alone for most stretches of the day. The area is kept clean -- it is vacuumed several times a day and mopped (with hot water) several times a week. My bedroom is immediately adjacent so I am to attend to the dog at night as necessary. There is also a decently sized fence yard, which is partially fenced. — I strongly prefer to have a meet-and-greet prior to confirmation.

A typical day
I usually do a quick potty walk in the morning and schedule a more extended walk (Pacific Spirit Park, the Seawall, or winding the neighbourhood streets) in the afternoon or evening. We review commands several times a day, and most definitely practice proper leash manner. I love snuggles -- unless your dog prefers their personal space. I often find myself conversing with dogs -- I still believe we understand each other. The yard allows us to play fetch or tug or hide-and-seek (usually it's treats more than me). Nevertheless, I prefer to follow the dog's regular routine.

Pet care experience
I love dogs. I grew up surrounded by dogs — my grandparents owned dogs, my family owned dogs, my extended family all have dogs. I have owned and/or lived with multiple dogs: Miniature Pinscher, Yorkshire Terrier, Belgian Mallinois, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Standard Poodle and Beagle. However, since moving back to Vancouver (in 2025), I have not able to commit to having a dog in my life, full time. Sad. As such, your dog (or dogs) will have my undivided care and affection. — I prefer to follow a dog’s established routine and diet. As such, their food (and medication) should come with them. I strongly advise for their bed, bowl and toy(s) to tag along as well. Having lived with dogs of varying fur, I am well versed with dog grooming — regular brushing, occasional de-matting, and basic trimming (if necessary). However, I do not venture into nail clipping territory. In terms of dental hygiene, I prefer giving the animal bones. However, if your dog is accustomed to having their teeth brushed, then I'd gladly brush their teeth. If your dog’s up for an adventure — I look forward to our extended walks or the occasional hike. We usually have extended conversations during our walks, and random sessions of trainings (e.g. command reinforcement). — Because separation anxiety is real, it is in my benefit not to be away from your dog for extended periods of time. I shall also be sending regular photographic and video updates. — I am able to accommodate one dog family at a time [maximum of 2 large dogs or 3 small dog]. Dogs must be potty-trained and mastered basic commands. If you dogs has special needs or is a senior dog, we can discuss to see whether it will be an appropriate match.
Reviews
JM has been a huge help with watching Ollie. He is clearly a dog person and treats Ollie with genuine care. I appreciate how he pays close attention to my instructions and is always willing to accommodate Ollie’s specific routines. It’s a relief knowing he’s in good hands, and it says a lot that Ollie is always so happy to see him.
Highly recommend JM as a dog sitter for your furry loved one. Our dog, poopa, enjoyed his time and we can tell because when we picked him up he was all smiles (yes our dog does smile). JM cares for your dog like he is his so you know your dog will be well taken cared of.
JM has been awesome with our pup. She's been walked by him regularly and has also stayed overnight with him, and we've always felt completely comfortable leaving her in his care. It's obvious he genuinely loves dogs, and ours is always excited to see him. JM keeps us updated, is reliable, and takes great care in what he does. We always come home to a happy, well-looked-after pup, which gives us a lot of peace of mind. We're happy to recommend JM to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and easy to work with. We'll definitely keep booking with him!
