Pet care experience

I'm all about the animals

I have always loved animals, and took care of my Grandma's dog Chippie before I got my own pup, Taffy, at age 11. Since then I've never been without at least one or two of my own cats and dogs. In high school I volunteered to take care of homeless animals at North Shore Animal League. Graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science at Cornell U. I've done numerous long distance transports bringing dogs and cats from kill shelters to no-kills; most memorable was a 2-week transport after Hurricane Katrina, renting an RV and taking 16 animals from the homes where they were being fostered back to their owners, who had been displaced to states all across the southern US. I've cared for a blind dog, Sadie, given subcutaneous fluids to my dog Benji, and kept my late dog, Belle, seizure-free for most of her life. I'm great with pill-dosing! I am also trained in the practice of Tellington Touch, a massage-like technique that calms animals (everything from chickens to shelter kittens!) I've cat-sat for friends and I've walked all sorts of dogs, from chihuahuas to Dalmatians and over-excited Siberian huskies. I firmly believe there are no bad dogs. And I understand how owners feel about their companion animals. I am patient, calm, and adoring of them all! I'm recently retired, and available every day. I traveled for a living. Now I'm available to help fit my services into other people's travel plans. I treat your home and pets like mine! The needs of your pets, their routines, their meds, etc., are sacrosanct. "Do unto others" guides my work ethic.

Jill always comes through. Our dog loves her and I never worry when she’s taking care of him.

Fantastic sitter! She took many pictures of our dog and always updated us. We can see that Jasper was really happy staying at her place and we look forward to having Jasper stay with her again!
