I have been caring for animals for over 40 years and boarding in my home for 15 years. We've owned a local insurance agency in McHenry since 1992, but pet care is my full time job and I am home with my boarders all day. This is a "just like home" environment for your dog with lots of play, hugs and kisses. We love animals and have worked with many local shelters as volunteers in many capacities. We currently have 4 dog-friendly cats, Bud, Clara, Tucker and Milly. There are no crates or kenneling involved in boarding at my home unless requested by the client. I strive to make your dog as comfortable as possible in our home to minimize stress and separation anxiety. I have many long-time clients that board with me and their dogs are always excited to come to our home to stay. I have a fully fenced/secure back yard for the dogs to run and play with lots of toys, and it is kept clean and free of dog waste. I am comfortable & experienced giving medications, injections and IV fluids. I also board birds, rabbits and small reptiles. We understand how scary it can be to entrust your pet to someone new and strive to alleviate your fears. You'll receive updates with photos, and are welcome to call or check in at any time to see how your pet is doing.

This was our first try with Jill, and we worried a lot because, for my pet, we are not sure about his stay with other dogs and cats. But due to Jill's experience and maturity, she was able to board him successfully and has taken care of all our worries. Our 6weeks vacation was completed, and we enjoyed it all because of Jill's experience in dog boarding and maturity. We were delighted, and we will board our dog again with Jill!
Jill was an excellent sitter for our dogs. From the first meet-and-greet I felt secure in her care and abilities. Communication was excellent, even overseas. Our dogs were happy and healthy in her care!

Very friendly and great personality. Treats the visitors like family. My dog normally has some anxiety issues but seemed calm and happy to stay there. Loved getting updates and felt confident that my little guy was receiving the best care.

Safety, trust & environment
The safety and well-being of your dog is my NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. My yard is completely fenced with chain link fencing and secure gates. The fencing and perimeter are inspected regularly for security. The plantings in my yard are pet friendly. The yard is kept clean and free of debris and dog waste. Dogs are not left outside unattended. Play time is monitored. My house is kept clean and orderly. Pet dishes, water bowls, bedding and toys are kept scrupulously clean.
A typical day
The safety and well-being of your pet is very important to me. My yard is secure and fully fenced with chain link and kept clean. Your dog may go outside as long as he/she wants and back inside as well. I do monitor activity/play in the yard. Dogs are never left out in extreme or inclement weather. Weather permitting, we take our boarders on walks in our quiet, friendly riverfront neighborhood. Pets are monitored when I am away from the house via petcam. For added security and upon client request, tethering is also available.

- Dogs who board here must be cat friendly. We have 4 dog-friendly, INSIDE cats and their safety is imperative. We do not accept dogs who show aggression towards cats and dogs with high prey drive for boarding.
