1). What are your needs when employing a dog sitter/walker?
2). How did you acquire the dog(s)? Breeder? Rescue? Shelter?
Private Adoption? Pet Store?
3. Does the dog have a grasp of the basic commands of Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Off, Heel and No? If no, what are the problem areas?
4). Are vaccinations up to date? Proof is required. If boarding at my home, the Bordatella vaccine is required.
5). Is the dog eager to please and easy to train?
6). Is the dog motivated by food or toys?
7). Does the dog do any special tricks?
8. Are there any special dietary needs or medications?
9). What types of treats are allowed?
10). How does the dog behave on a leash, and is it easily distracted while walking?
11). Does the dog have a history of door dashing?
12). Are fleas and ticks under control? What treatment is used?
13). If I am walking your dog in your neighborhood, are there any areas of a neighborhood that should be avoided? For example, areas with disagreeable neighbors, problem dogs, etc.
14). Does the dog have any "triggers" that might suddenly change his or her behavior?
15) Does the dog have any allergies?
16). Is the dog able to negotiate steps or stairs?
17). Is the dog accustomed to walking against traffic in a housing development?
18). Has the dog been to a dog park or park?
19) Have any coyotes, raccoons, skunks or fox been sighted in your neighborhood during the day?
20. Will emergency numbers and information for the Veterinarian be available?
