Pet care experience
Cozy, Clean Home|Lots of Attention
Hi! I’m Jiaxi, a UC Berkeley student and longtime animal lover with six years of pet care experience. I know how important it is to feel confident about where your dog is staying while you’re away. My goal is to make their stay feel as close to home as possible — comfortable, relaxed, and full of attention. I live in a clean, pet-friendly apartment with no pets of my own, so visiting dogs get plenty of attention and space to settle in. I also have a separate room available if your dog prefers a quieter place to relax. Dogs are welcome to make themselves at home, whether that means hanging out next to me while I study, relaxing on a comfy bed, or sleeping near me at night. I have experience caring for shy and rescue dogs and understand that every dog has a different personality and routine. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual feeding, walking, sleeping, and care schedule so their stay feels familiar. I also have my own car, which makes drop-offs, pick-ups, park trips, and unexpected vet visits much easier. While you’re away, I’ll keep you updated with photos, videos, and messages so you always know how your dog is doing.

Ratings and reviews
Jiaxi did a great job taking care of Laika for a long weekend (3 nights, 4 days). I would have preferred to receive more updates - even if it was just a message/pic a day to let me know things were going well -- so just make sure to communicate those preferences beforehand.

Very attentive and caring dogsitter. Took great videos and pictures during the overnight boarding stay. Great communication. Thank you for taking care of Rudy!

Very communicative and was very easy to work with! Would definitely rebook with!

Jiaxi was prompt, responsive, and super understanding/patient with my shy pup. Would recommend!

Jiaxi and his gf Rosie were the best Rover sitters we’ve had. Super thoughtful, caring, communicative, and proactive when our dog had a medical problem. It was such a blessing to be away knowing our dog was getting so much care and attention.

Schedule
As a UC Berkeley student, my schedule is fairly flexible and I spend a lot of my time studying at home, so pets usually have plenty of company throughout the day. I normally take dogs out around three times a day — morning, afternoon, and evening — but I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual walking and potty schedule. I’m generally available on weekends as well, and drop-off and pick-up times can usually be flexible.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My Home Environment: Private & Safe Space: I have a dedicated spare room for your pet to relax in peacefully. This provides a stress-free environment, especially for dogs who value their own space. However, they are also free to roam my apartment and are welcome to sleep in my bed for cuddles! Sanitized & Pet-Proofed: I am very neat and detail-oriented. I keep my home spotless and free of hazards. I sanitize surfaces regularly and ensure the floor is always clean for paws. Safety First: Emergency Ready (Car + Vet): Safety is my top priority. I have my own car and live just 1 mile from a pet hospital, meaning I can act immediately in case of any emergency. Flight Risk Awareness: With 6 years of rescue experience, I am hyper-aware of "door dashing" and keeping pets secure on leashes during walks. Park Safety: I live right next to a park, which is great for walks, but I am always vigilant about other dogs and surroundings to ensure your pup stays safe. Communication: I know how hard it is to be away from your fur baby. I will send you daily photos, videos, and updates so you can see exactly how much fun they are having!
A typical day
A typical day starts with a morning walk and potty break, followed by breakfast and some time to relax at home. During the day, your dog can hang out with me while I study, nap in a comfortable spot, or enjoy some playtime and attention. I usually take dogs out again in the afternoon and evening, but I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal walking and potty schedule. Since I live next to a park, we have an easy place nearby for walks and sniffing around. With your permission, I can also take your dog on longer walks or short trips to nearby parks. At the end of the day, they’ll have plenty of time to settle down, cuddle, and get comfortable for the night. I’ll also send photos or videos during their stay so you can see how they’re doing.
