Pet care experience

Will walk and snuggle

Ive taken care of dogs of varying sizes and energy levels over the past 10 years and a very sweet and not so bright Labrador before that. I’m a go-to for walks, runs, feeding + ball throwing. I’m always interested in what kind of training you’re working on with your dog and how we can help reinforce good behaviors. I’ve had experience with shy dogs who lack confidence and boisterous dogs that need extra stimulation.

Jheri was amazing with our dog while we were gone for the weekend! She sent tons of pictures and updates, and Rio clearly had had a great time when we came to pick him up.

Our dog had so much fun with Jheri and John she didn’t want to come home when the party was over. Would definitely ask them to watch our dog again.

Schedule

I recently started a part time retail position that has me away from home for 5-6 hours at a time. My partner works a hybrid schedule. We like to coordinate and customize our schedules for the dogs we sit. We start each day with an hour walk in the morning and end with an hour walk at night. We’re very flexible in our routines!

Safety, trust & environment

I live in an apartment in Ballard near parks and Ballard High with my partner John. We don’t have pets or children (baby in the photo is my nephew). We have a great runway for fetch inside and access to many outdoor areas. I have my secret fenced in spots I like to take dogs who are not confident off leash or with other dogs. If your dog is comfortable in social situations, you can expect me to bring them on all my walks to coffee shops and breweries. If they’re a good runner, we participate in the Stoup Runners group every other Sunday. During the summer, if your pup is up for an adventure, we may go for a hike! We’re big supporters of morning snuggles and love a dog with a personality!

A typical day

I typically start my weekdays with an hour walk or short walk + 30 minutes of ball. I’m lucky to live in a neighborhood with great sidewalks and excellent sniffs. If I’m home, pup is free to hang out and we’ll get outside for short bathroom breaks a couple times if needed and a lunchtime small walk + play. After work, another long play/sniff session and maybe a walk to Stoup for a beer stopping by the park for more ball on the way home! Weekends we go for longer excursions around Seattle or up to the mountains. If you’ve got a city dog, we can accommodate that with some at home adventures too!

We love all dogs but unfortunately cannot take any dogs with severe vocal separation anxiety. This is out of courtesy to my neighbors. Other than that, let me know what- if anything -you’re actively working on in training. I have experience with reactive dogs, potty training, and low confidence pups. If your dog has aversions to large men with facial hair, I’ll need to know or my partner and your pup will both be uncomfortable. Always happy to do a meet and greet and learn more about the unique quirks of your pet!
