I am generally home throughout the day, and I keep our daily routine flexible based on the needs of the pups staying with me. Energetic and ready to go? There will be plenty of walks, outdoor time, play, and opportunities to burn off that energy. More of a couch potato? Laid-back days, cozy naps, and couch snuggles are some of my favorite pastimes! Because I intentionally keep the number of dogs in my care exclusive/small, I'm able to get to know each pup's personality and make sure they get the right balance of activity, attention, play, and downtime. Not every dog wants to do the same thing, and that's perfectly okay. Pups are rarely left alone while staying with me. If I do need to step out, it's typically for a short period of time, usually no more than an hour or two.

Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priority. There are no pets or children in the home, which helps create a quieter, lower-stress environment for dogs who prefer a little more peace and consistency. My family are all dog people, so pups are always surrounded by people who genuinely love and enjoy them. We have a fenced patio/run where dogs can safely enjoy outdoor time, stretch their legs, and take easy potty breaks throughout the day. I also have a secure lead setup in the front yard where dogs who enjoy the outdoors can safely relax, sunbathe on the outdoor bed, sniff around, and enjoy some fresh air while supervised. We’re also surrounded by some of Daybreak’s best dog-friendly parks, walking trails, and green space, including areas near the lake, which means lots of safe, leashed walks, fresh air, sniffing, and enrichment. For everyone’s comfort and safety, I require a meet & greet for all new clients to make sure we are a great fit before booking.

Before your dog’s stay, I like to learn a little about them so I can make their time here feel as comfortable, familiar, and stress-free as possible. A few things that are helpful for me to know: • Typical daily routine (feeding schedule, potty habits, sleep routine) • Energy level, favorite activities, and favorite ways to relax • Comfort level with new people, dogs, and unfamiliar environments • Any anxiety, fears, reactivity, or specific triggers • Potty training status and whether they are crate trained or free roam at home • How they do when left alone and leash behavior on walks • Any medical needs, medications, allergies, or special care instructions • Any behaviors to be aware of (chewing, barking, counter surfing, escape artist tendencies, etc.) • Whether they have stayed in another home before and how they typically adjust • Emergency contact information • Anything else you think would help me better understand your pup and help them feel happy and settled while they’re here For boarding stays, I recommend bringing anything that helps your pup feel comfortable and at home, including: • Food for their stay (plus a little extra, just in case) • Favorite treats • Favorite blanket, bed, or toy(s) • Harness/collar and leash • Potty bags • Kennel/crate if they use one and are comfortable with it My goal is always to make their stay feel as close to home as possible.
A typical day
Every dog settles in a little differently, and I do my best to make their stay feel comfortable, familiar, and fun. For dogs who love activity, that might mean neighborhood walks, park adventures, outdoor time, and lots of opportunities to explore and sniff. For pups who prefer a slower pace, there is always cozy couch time, soft Minky blankets, sunbathing, and a calm place to relax. Most dogs are somewhere in between, and I naturally adjust the day based on your dog’s personality, routine, and energy level. Evenings are calm and cozy, with dinner, a final potty break, cuddle time, and settling in for a restful night’s sleep.

Welcome to Wiggly Butt Retreat, where dogs are spoiled, snuggled, and adored. I provide calm, home-based dog boarding and daycare designed to feel less like traditional boarding and more like staying with someone your dog already knows and loves. I am generally home throughout the day, so my guests get plenty of attention, affection, playtime, outdoor breaks, and, of course, naps and cuddles. I intentionally keep things small and personal. I mostly care for one dog/household at a time. If I do take more than one, it's always discussed with owners and I'm very selective about the dogs I accept together. I consider personality, temperament, size, energy level, age, and individual needs because I want every dog in my home to feel safe and comfortable. This is not a crowded kennel or large daycare environment. It is my home, and every dog who stays here becomes part of it for a little while. Dogs have been a huge part of my life for almost 30 years. I've raised and trained my own dogs, spent about 15 years fostering and helping rehabilitate abused and neglected dogs, volunteered as a dog specialist in high-stress shelter environments, and completed animal behavior and handling training through Best Friends Animal Society and Salt Lake County Animal Services. That experience has taught me that dogs aren't one-size-fits-all. Some want to play all day. Some would happily spend the afternoon curled up next to me. Some need a little extra patience before they decide I'm trustworthy. And some need more structure, space, or reassurance to feel comfortable. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog's personality and figuring out what makes them happiest. Most importantly, I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone else. My goal is for you to leave knowing they're safe, loved, understood, and probably being spoiled a little more than they'll admit when you get home. Welcome to Wiggly Butt Retreat. I I could give more than 5 stars I would! In our last stay our silly senior dog decided to act like he was a puppy and ended up feeling quite sore at absolutely no fault of Jessica's! And she was fast to not only contact us, but to keep us updated on how he was feeling. She made sure he rested and was so well loved on and cared for! I have no doubt that my dog is in amazing hands when he is here! By the time we picked him up just a few days later he was already feeling better and happy as can be!

Jessica took a great care of my dog Luna when we were on vacation. A multiple times a day she informed us how Luna is doing, her eating, sleeping and etc. She sent a lot of photos, where we could see how Luna enjoyed her stay; walking, playing, cuddling with Jessica and her family. The most importantly Luna did not show any stress or change in habits after she returned home. We definitely will recommend Jessica.
