Dogs come first!
Pet care experience
I realized that dogs come first in my life when a small dog that I was taking care of was curled up on my lap, which prevented me from pulling out the computer keyboard tray so I could work. Faced with the choice of continuing to work or keeping the dog on my lap, I chose the dog. I do my best to tune in to each dog's personality and needs and provide them with care and affection while making them feel secure in a new environment. My own dog, Julian, is very calm and gets along with almost all dogs. Unfortunately, I am not equipped to take care of large (over 30 pounds) or highly active dogs.

We don't have a yard but we have a large deck that's completely fenced in. I allow dog guests to roam around the house and find the place where they feel most comfortable and safe - whether it's on the floor, couch, or bed. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you and your precious companions!

A typical day
I normally take my dog and dog guests on one long-ish walk in the morning, a shorter walk in the late afternoon and a very brief walk in the evening before we go to bed. In addition, I leave the back door open so they can go outside on the deck whenever they want.

Availability
I work part-time from home so unless I'm doing shopping or errands I'm usually here. If your dog enjoys riding in the car and the weather is OK, I might take him/her with me when I run errands; otherwise, it's rare they'll be left home alone for more than an hour or two.
