About Jessica R.

Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I have a 6ft fence around my yard to ensure the safety of pets in my care. I’m able to crate pets as needed as well. I prefer to mimic your pets normal environment as much as possible to limit their stress. For drop in services, I can provide care just as you do for them at home within the given timeframe.
Information Jessica R. would like to know about your pet
It’s very important to me to keep your pets schedule and comfort in mind. I like to know where your dog typically sleeps, if they have any medical needs, if they have any triggers (fireworks, strange dogs, don’t like to be touched or pet in certain areas, etc). Additionally, it’s extremely important to me to have a meet & greet prior to accepting a booking whether for boarding, walking or drop in care.
A typical day
A typical day starts with a potty break and breakfast. I have dozens of dog toys including some that I fill with treats or yogurt, peanut butter, etc and freeze. It helps keep my high energy dogs busy and mentally stimulated while in the house. We take lots of breaks for outside time so the dogs can go potty, take in sniffs, sunbathe or chase birds. In the evening, we play ball or take a walk and wrap the night up with dinner and another potty break.

Reliable and Experienced Pet Care
Pet care experience
I’ve been caring for dogs, cats and small animals for more than 25 years. My mother was a vet tech and ran a rescue out of our house for most of my childhood. I grew up caring for abandoned puppies and kittens, trapping strays, pet sitting for clients from the vet clinic and living with 20+ dogs at any given time. As an adult I’ve had experience with daily care (walking, feeding) of dogs, cats and guinea pigs, as well as bathing and administering oral and sub-dermal medications. I’m raising my children to love and care for animals as well. I have 4 teenagers that I often bring along on house sittings, drop ins or meet & greets. I believe it’s important to demonstrate strong work ethic, people skills and compassion so they are prepared for adulthood. If you’re lucky, you may meet one of them!
Reviews

Jessica was great with our dog, Murphy. He is an anxious dog, but she was able to calm him during thunderstorms and comfort him while we were gone. We appreciated her updates and pictures to ease our anxieties about leaving him home on our long vacation.

Jessica is always responsive and our pups enjoy her visits. She provides pictures and updates; we know our pups are in good hands with her. Highly recommend (and I’m very picky about who cares for our fur babies).
Jessica is kind and conscientious and I highly recommend her!

This was our first time using Rover and Jessica did a great job! She sent updates of our pups with pictures and they looked very happy. Would highly recommend her and already have her booked for a few more dates!
