Hi, My rates shown are for pets who can be alone 4-5 hours during the day. If the sit requires less time between potty breaks, please let me know how many hours they are comfortable on their own, to make sure I can accomodate on the dates/times of your request. For less than 4 hours between potty breaks, the rate will be adjusted +40/day. Thank you for reading my profile! With housesitting, I stay overnight and will be there during the day at least 8 out of 12 hours between 7am-7pm. Let me know your pets' needs for meal and medication timing! **If dogs do not require the use of an e-collar or prong collar, and do not pull on the leash while walking I am more likely to accept the request. Please note how your dog is on walks if they will be needed during the housesit. For cats I keep them indoors 100% of the time during the booking for safety. I miss having a pet of my own after mine passed at 13 and 15 a few years ago so thought this would be good for me after a work accident that does not allow me to do full-time work otherwise at the moment.

It's very helpful to fill out your pets' Rover profile with their behavior details and a summary of their typical day with times and sleeping habits. Describing behaviors (ex: barking at outdoor noises/people walking by often, sleeps on your pillow or scratches at night, plays rough with your other dog, pulls or barks towards other dogs on the street) are helpful to get an idea how your pet will be to sit with. This can help find the right sitter and increase rebookings. I enjoy getting to know each pets' unique personality, and giving them attention as they feel comfortable. I can administer medication by mouth or topical application - included in housesitting price if placed or mixed in food, or given by hand in pill pocket, chewable, etc. Please let me know if your pet tries to bite or squirm around when getting their medication. This requires more time and risk with some pets. Dogs are always leashed outdoors unless they have a fenced yard and no tendency to escape. Please let me know if they sometimes eat or roll in things they shouldn't, what those things are, and where they would encounter them/how the behavior is managed or prevented.

Information Jessica P. would like to know about your pet

*Please read - Does your dog or cat need or take medication for anxiety, skin conditions (allergies, etc), ear infection or diabetes? Any features of your home or yard requiring close monitoring around or your pet may get into some trouble? Examples would be brush or ground covering where critters may hide, especially for dogs with hunting tendencies or prey drive. These are very helpful to make me aware of preferably before the meet and greet, with descriptions of how they are managed are useful info. **If they have a bite history with anyone or other animals inside or outside the home in the past, or resource guard their toys or food (medium or large dogs), I would not be comfortable accepting the request. Thank you!

A typical day

*Housesitting-Let me me know your pets' needs. If fits we can arrange a meet & greet. I am often present between the potty breaks/feedings. This is just an outline of what time I can provide meals or potty breaks if I have happened to leave in between. If I engage in conversation rather than decline, this means I am available to care for them based on the info you provide. How many hours they can be alone (4 hours is standard) during the day, and any timed meals or medications are appreciated to make known with your request and/or on your pets profile. -7:00am-9:00am, potty break before and after eating if they have breafast -Noon-2:00pm mid-day potty break/lunch. 15-20 minute walk or backyard/indoor playtime -5:00pm-7:00pm dinner and walk or playtime/evening couch cuddles -Potty break before bed 9:00pm-11:00pm. Many dogs/some cats enjoy having someone sleep in the same room if they are used to that with owners, and enjoy cuddle sessions throughout the day watching TV/etc. Play with their toys outside/inside, cuddles, treat rewards and attention. Positive reinforcement over aversive methods. Making sure they don't feel lonely while their owner is away and make a new friend!

Pet care experience

Hi! Thanks for fully reading my profile. Your pet(s) will most likely be the only ones I am caring for during the housesit booked. **Please send requests for overnight housesits between 3-15 days in length. I have a pet care background as a kennel manager, sat for neighbors as a kid and housemates while away, small critter care tech at Petco, helped on a horse farm for a few months, and of my own pets - dogs (Pit Bull Terrier, Beagle, Lab mix), bearded dragon, and Ball Python during my adult years. I grew up caring for our cats, a rabbit and hamsters, and had several dogs of my own starting as a young adult. I also am Reiki Level II attuned.

Highly recommend Jessica as your next house sitter! She gave us an update every day, was incredible with the dogs, and let us know of goings on around the house. It was our first time using Rover, and she made the experience so stress-free that I think we might take more vacations. I cannot thank her enough!

Jessica is the BEST house sitter / pup wrangler we’ve had. She is very communicative and sent many photos each day while we were away. Juniper is still checking the guest room to see if she’s coming back.
