Welcome to my Rover profile, it's nice to e-meet you! ABOUT ME I am a reliable, flexible, and experienced pet sitter and American Red Cross Animal First Aid & CPR certified. I've been pet sitting, dog walking, and an animal lover since I was 11. I grew up with cats in my parents' home, dreamed of owning a dog, and was the go-to kid on the block when neighbors went out of town and needed someone to care for their pets. In college, I volunteered at Richmond Animal Care & Control for 4 years. During this time, I received hands-on instruction in: -fear-free behavioral training and positive reinforcement -reading dog and cat body language -dog reactivity management and care -medication administration -senior and special needs animal care Post-grad I moved to the DC area, and reconnected with neighbors, friends, and family that had pets in need of care. I also began volunteering with Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center, where I regularly walk dogs, wash blankets/ toys, and feed cats. In 2020 and 2021, I became a pet parent to two Alaskan Klee Kai, Bowie and Stevie. They bring so much joy to my day to day and I can't imagine life without them. Having pets of my own, I know first-hand how important it is to find the the right person you can trust with your pet. My goal is to build trusting relationships with pets and their owners, so every animal in my care lives a happy, healthy life and their owners have peace of mind! __________________________________ ABOUT YOU My priority is your pet's wellbeing, so I ask every pet parent to share the following information: Behavior & Personality -Likes, comfort items -Dislikes, boundaries, fears -Behavioral Must Knows: reactivity triggers (dogs, bikes, cars?) separation anxiety? resource guarding? bite history? -Comfort level and experience with strangers, neighbors, children -Comfort level with other dogs and animals -Energy level -Medical conditions, special needs? Daily Routine -Potty schedule and cues -Feeding schedule, portions, cues, and supplements/ medications -Food rules? Treats? Allergies and sensitivities? -Crate trained? Free roam? Any areas off-limits to pet? -Sleeping/ nighttime routine Enrichment -Walk length and pacing -Favorite toys -Favorite activities/ games--nose work, fetch, tug, chase, etc. -Toy rules--supervised-only, no stuffed toys, no chews, etc. Owner Preferences -Preferred update/ check-in frequency (pictures/ video ok?) -House rules and need-to-knows: any rooms off-limits? alarms to be aware of? gate codes? package/mail preferences? In Case of Emergency - What would be a red flag requiring immediate call/text? -Ok to provide First Aid/ CPR? -Regular vet information -Emergency vet information/ preference(s) -Additional emergency contacts

Your pet's wellbeing is my top priority. Pets left in my care will remain supervised at all times and leashed when outside (per owner specifications). I request and make note of as much information as possible prior to care to ensure pets are happy, healthy, and safe at all times. A a pet parent myself, I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your pet in someone else's care. My job is to leave you with peace of mind and to care for your pet as if they were my own.

I've know Jessica since childhood, and never have I had a doubt about her love for animals. She treats her own pups as if they were her own children, and extends that same love and respect to all other K9's. During her time at college, she volunteered at the Richmond, VA animal shelter. She had a way of connecting with the dogs in that shelter to make them feel loved again. She often told us stories the about the dogs that would come in from abusive homes, and how she would help those same dogs recover, and in many cases see them get adopted. I'll never forget seeing her walk around the block multiple times a day with different dogs, treating them each with the same care and respect. Jessica has always been a wonderful pet caregiver.
Jess has been walking my two dogs for a few years now (off the Rover app). My dogs are absolutely obsessed with her! Jess is very reliable when we need a trusted dog walker when we’re out of town. She has really helped us out in a pinch before and I would highly recommend her to anyone else who may be looking for a dog sitter/ walker.

Schedule
I set my own hours and have plenty of time and flexibility to give your pet the attention it deserves. I have weekend and evening availability as needed. I'm happy to tailor scheduling to you and your pet's needs.
