I work from home every day except Monday mornings for a few hours, which is just 5 minutes from my house. If I’m ever gone for a full day, I always stop home for lunch to walk my pup and give him love. I also admit to regularly checking my camera throughout the day to see what he’s up to while I’m away! He has his dog door and keeps himself busy keeping the house safe from squirrels and cats. I can board your pup any day of the week, including Mondays, as long as they are ok with my absence for a few hours at a time. I can provide doggy day care any day except for Mondays.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a huge fenced yard with a doggy door large enough for a 60-80lb dog to fit through, depending on their build. My 9 year old border collie/lab mix is super friendly and would love a buddy to patrol the yard and nap with. Since I work from home most of the time, I also will be around to give lots of love and belly rubs! I require meet and greets with most dogs, and if you are looking to book for an extended stay (more than a few days) I may request you book an overnight trial stay to ensure everything goes smoothly.

- Is your dog reactive to other dogs or certain people? - Does your dog ever chew on furniture or house plants? - What basic commands does your dog know? - Can your dog play unsupervised in a fenced-in yard? Would they try to dig a hole under the fence to escape or jump over it? - Where does your dog prefer to sleep? - Does your dog eat its entire meal right away or graze throughout the day? - What does your dog need to get comfortable in a new environment? - Does your dog have any quirks I should be aware of?

A typical day

Archie and I go on daily walks to catch all the new smells and make sure the neighborhood squirrels are behaving themselves. While I’m working, Archie and his buddies usually alternate between romping around, patrolling the backyard for squirrels, begging me for pets, and napping. Archie is aging and can sometimes overdo it playing hard with super energetic pups, which has caused some limping and joint issues. Because of that, I prefer to watch dogs that are smaller and/or moderate to low energy, to avoid him getting injured. If your dog is really high energy and especially likes using that energy to play with other pups, please be sure to let me know.

Pet care experience

My house is a very quiet and peaceful sanctuary with just me and my pup Archie. It’s perfect for older dogs who want to relax, or any dog living with kids and chaos to find some peace. I generally only watch 1-2 dogs from a single family at any given time to ensure the pups are safe and well cared for. I may make an exception if I get a request to watch a dog I already know and trust. I have lived with and loved dogs my entire life, and I have happily cared for all different kinds. I have trained several puppies as well as my own anxious border collie mix. I regularly boarded my friend’s elderly dog until his passing, and I was told that Fozzie was always happier and healthier after staying with me than with others. I have tricks to get those anxious dogs to eat and relax! I am notorious for loving all dogs; the other day a friend asked me “have you ever met a dog you didn’t think was cute?” The answer is no!

Jessica did a very nice job with our geriatric pooch who has a lot of quirks! She put down carpets when he was having trouble getting up and down some stairs. Our old boy came back well rested, fed, and calm.

Our dog had a great time! Good communication with Jessica, and plenty of pictures. She was flexible with our scheduling, and needs. Her dog was very friendly and patient. Teddy came home from the stay happy and healthy!

Jessica is a lifelong dog lover who delights in caring for both large and small companions. She seems to form instant connections with doggos and does a great job of making them feel comfy and loved.
