Pet care experience
Overall animal lover
I grew up with a love for animals nomatter how small or big, scales or fur, I wanted to play with them. Growing up with 3 dogs, 6 chinchillas at a time, a hamster, fish, and more showed me how much I absolutely love my animals so I started volunteering at animal shelters where I then, went on to manage a pet store over time. When people would hear I watched animals for others whether they were reptiles, cats, dogs, or fish they started to use me for mini getaways and then long trips. When leaving an animal with me it gets spoiled. I do not believe animals needs to be just fed, watered, and let out. The time you put into the pet is the bond youre able to create with it and you want someone who is going to treat your pet as their own and that is exactly what I do.

Safety, trust & environment
After volunteering at shelters and having many animals of my own I have learned that patience is key. When meeting a new animal who may be anxious or scared, sitting quietly with them for awhile and allowing them to come to you on their own terms works the best. Forcing an animal to adjust to a human is not in anyway okay and only makes things harder for them to trust a human. Making sure an animal has a properly secured and adjusted harness or collar before going out is also a big thing I have always checked incase the animal is an escape artist. Before allowing a dog to go outside making sure gates are secured as you never know when one may be unlatched for any reason. When going on walks I am always aware of my surrounding for cars, people, other animals to keep all safe. If an animal is hypersensitive or reactive knowing ahead of time allows me to adjust accordingly.

Schedule
Pet care gives me the flexibility of caretaking in between my families schedules. Instead of being set to a 9 to 5 I can stagger my time to fit all my needs so it allows me to get chores done, appointments checked off without taking a day off, and allows me to also fulfill my real estate job along the way.
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsover 101 lbsJessica can host up to 1 pet per night
- Knowing a general dogs body language and vocals when happy or angry is a nice heads up as some dogs growl when happy and others don't depending on breeds. Knowing if an animal has any special needs that would cause an adjustment to day to day activities to accommodate them and make their time easier. Special diets, if they're escape artists, if they have people or animal anxiousness that would cause them to be reactive if overstimulated or scared. Anything else that you may think I would need to know that would cause your animal to have a less stressful and more exciting adjustment to their schedule if possible.
