Calm with reactive & senior dogs
I've had dogs my whole life, and taking care of them has taught me to pay close attention to the small things: how they're walking, how they're breathing, whether something in their behavior or routine seems off. I check in on that constantly with every dog I'm watching, because their wellbeing is always my top priority. Rump, my senior dog, has taught me how to care for an aging dog: how their mobility changes, and the kind of enrichment they need at a slower pace. Short Rib, my reactive dog, has taught me what it's like to live with a high-energy, overstimulated dog, and she went through a formal training program, which is why I rely on treats and positive reinforcement to build trust. I'm new to Rover, but I've dog-sat and done drop-in visits for family members, and dog-sat for a previous boss. I treat every dog like my own: I only take one client's dog, or dogs, at a time so I can give my full attention, and I adapt every walk and visit to what that specific dog needs.

Safety, trust & environment
Every booking includes GPS-tracked walks, a photo/video update, and a full recap card. I'm background-checked through Rover and take pet safety seriously, from double-checking harnesses and gates before every walk to knowing dog-owner-level basics like when something needs a vet's attention. My recap cards are detailed. If I notice something that isn't an emergency but you'd still want to know, like an odd stool texture, I'll include it. Having a reactive dog of my own means I don't get flustered by barking, lunging, or a dog who needs extra space. I read body language before it becomes a problem, not after. For cats, that means quiet, low-stress visits with no forced handling. I like to build a relationship with the dog, including treats, but only what's parent-approved. I also adjust walks based on weather and the dog's needs. If it's too hot to finish the full walk, I'll bring them back early and provide indoor engagement until the booking is done, rather than cutting the visit short. On walks, I keep my phone away so I can stay present and alert to anything going on, rather than taking a lot of photos. I usually take two: one at the start and one when we finish. I also don't rush off right after a walk. I give us five minutes to decompress together before I leave. If anything ever seems off with your pet, you'll hear from me immediately, not after the fact

I'm currently between full-time roles, which means consistent, reliable availability for walks and drop-ins. I'm available weekdays, weekends, and evenings. My schedule stays steady rather than shifting week to week, so you can count on the same routine.
