I only use harnesses and traditional leashes when taking dogs for walks, this gives me more control to keep your dog safe in many situations. I keep a pet first aid in my car just incase there’s any splinters or anything else. I am very cautious when house sitting, I have PTSD and trouble feeling safe sometimes so I go overboard making sure everything is locked, closed, knobs on the oven are all off, fireplace is properly put out, etc. When it comes to making sure your pet is safe in your home I follow your lead when it comes to what is acceptable for your pets in their normal home environment. Some owners prefer their dogs have marrow bones to chew when they are home alone, some prefer them only to chew when supervised, some dogs are kenneled, while others free roam the home. It’s your rules are for your pets I follow and it helps keep everything normal for them while you’re away. I make sure to promptly cleanup after myself so there’s no risk of pets getting into food they shouldn’t eat, chargers they shouldn’t chew, or anything like that. I do not invite people over unless previously discussed and agreed upon by you. I have been known to deep clean every now and then or help with household chores if I have the time so you might come home to a Pinterest worthy fridge.
