Pet care experience

Experienced dog & cat caretaker

From an elderly Goldendoodle to a Jack Russell puppy, I have years of experience caring for pets of a variety of ages, sizes, and personalities. I myself have two young Portuguese Water Dogs, and they have prepared me well to care of high-energy pets. I am also experienced in caring for cats, and am the primary cat-sitter for multiple households. I'm comfortable working with all pets, and even multiple at once; one household I have taken care of in the past has three dogs and a kitten. I love animals and will be sure to give your pet all of the love and attention that they need!

Safety, trust & environment

I treat pets with love and respect, and will adhere to any guidelines that you have for how to care for your pet. I am happy to cater to individual needs, such as administering medications. I will also be sure to make sure your pet is in a safe environment - I am used to handling curious animals, and make sure to keep any hazardous food or objects out of their reach.

Jess has been dogsitting for my family for nearly 10 years. She first began with us when we went abroad for vacation in 2017, watching our 13-year old Jack Russell Terrier Skippy. Since then, she has watched Milo when he was merely 5 months old and has since watched him with his new sister Penny, who is very scared of strangers. Our dogs have BIG personalities and Jess has always been so great while watching them. She keeps them on-schedule and can also adapt to their wildly different personalities (terriers, go figure). She has also taken on housesitting duties for us on extended vacations, which exemplifies how she goes above and beyond. We've also appreciated how she keeps us in the loop about their day-to-day activities (or issues) while also being considerate that we are trying to unplug on our vacations. I would highly recommend her without reservation.

Jessica has been trusted with my three large, high-need rescue dogs on many occasions. She is extremely reliable and timely, always consistently following feeding and outdoor-time schedules. I can tell through her interactions with my dogs that she really loves and cares for them as if they are her own. When I lost one very recently, she grieved alongside myself and my family. I am so grateful for the time she has given up to take care of these special members of my family.

Jessica has been a frequent sitter for my cat Goose, sometimes for more than a week at a time. Each time Jessica cares for Goose, I know she is in great hands. I feel very comforted by the frequent updates and photos Jessica shares. She is extremely diligent, responsible, and caring. I would recommend Jessica as a pet sitter to anyone.

Schedule

I am a first-year law student at George Washington University. My class schedule is very light on Thursdays and Fridays, making me readily available to provide care for long weekends. I also have hour-long breaks during my days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, which means that I am available for quick local drop-ins or 30-minute walks during the work day. I love animals and miss my family's dogs, so I am eager to fit some quality time with your pets into my day!

Please let me know if your dog has a history of aggression towards humans or other dogs. I would also like to be aware of any other specific behavioral issues, quirks, or fears your dog might have (for example: my dog Maisy gets spooked when people sneeze!). I want to ensure that I am the right person to care for your pet, and that my visit is safe and fun for everyone.
