Pet care experience

Your dog is my only client.

I don’t just Rover-sit — I’m a Rover client too. That’s how I learned true one-on-one boarding is rare. Ask any sitter: ‘How many dogs are you accepting at one time?’ — not how many they have now, but their actual cap. I didn’t think to ask until I found out the hard way. Your dog is the only boarding dog in my home, always. 30+ years caring for dogs, plus 3.5 years in group classes and 1-on-1 training with my own working-class cattle dog mix. What you get when you book with me: -One client at a time. No overlap. -One resident pet. -Guaranteed walks- no extra fee. -Fully fenced large yard. -Unrestricted access to yard through a dog door. -Daily photos and updates. -Free Rome home environment (kennel available upon request). -Overnight presence—your dog is never left alone in a facility. -Separate rest/feeding zones. -Individualized mental enrichment. -Backup Supplies- additional leashes, harness, bowls, etc in a variety of sizes.

Finding a pet sitter who treats my Lulu like a family member and as their own is rare, but Jessica is exactly that person. If you are looking for total peace of mind while you’re away, look no further. I’ll admit, I’m obsessed with my dog, leaving Lulu is always stressful for me, but from the moment Jessica walked in for the meet and greet, my anxiety completely vanished. She has a natural, calm energy that immediately put Lulu at ease. Why I Highly Recommend Jessica: The "Lulu Approved" Factor: Lulu doesn't just like Jessica she adores her. Seeing Lulu completely melt into Jessica's lap is the ultimate seal of approval. Jessica clearly has the "magic touch" when it comes to the perfect ear and belly rubs! 🐶Expert Communication: I received regular updates, including the most adorable photos. It was the highlight of my day and allowed me to actually enjoy my trip knowing Lulu was being pampered. 🐶Attentive & Detail Oriented: Jessica followed every instruction to the letter, from specific feeding times to Lulu's quirky habits. 🐶Respectful & Reliable: I do not trust very many people with my dog but I do trust Jessica, book her now while she’s available you can thank me later!

It is so clear that Jessica adores dogs! She treats her own like her child and gives the same care to the dogs visiting her home. She used to watch my dogs for me and I never doubted they were being loved on and treated with the utmost care while in her presence.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

In the office 3 days/week — Tue/Thu for sure, plus one of Mon or Fri. Home Wednesdays. Weekends center on off-leash dog park runs for lots of exercise and stimulation. Your dog should be comfortable being left alone in my house with my own dog for up to 8 hours. Typically I am only away for 6 hours on work days, but it could be as long as 8. For dogs unused to dog doors, one is available for access to my yard when I’m away.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fully fenced, spacious backyard with dog door access— plenty of room to run and play. I keep a calm, structured environment, and I ask that dogs be comfortable in that kind of space: not overly hyper or reactive, especially since my neighbors have dogs too and reactivity can create real problems on both sides of the fence. If your dog can’t be safely left alone loose in the house, I do have a crate available — crate-trained dogs are welcome, but your dog should be either house-safe or crate-trained for the times I’m away.

Pets

A typical day

Weekdays we walk at least 1 hour (timing depends on weather); weekends we’re often out 2+ hours. I focus on sniff walks over distance — mental stimulation matters as much as physical exercise for burning off energy. When weather and schedule allow, I like dog parks, trails, or hikes, and occasionally on weekend mornings we walk the Kirkland waterfront and relax on a coffee shop patio. Outside of office days and walks, I’m home with the dogs most of the time — if I do go somewhere they can’t join, I keep it short.

After you submit a request, I’ll send an intake form to complete before we move forward — it covers health history, behavior (reactivity, destructive tendencies, etc.), and other key details about your dog. Once I’ve reviewed it, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet if it looks like a good fit. Please note: any information left off the intake form that affects my ability to keep a safe, stable environment for your dog, myself, and my own dog may result in immediate termination of the stay, and you’ll need to make alternative arrangements. Liability for your dog’s behavior and any resulting damage or injury rests with the owner.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
