My life revolves around my dog. Teddy is a fairly high energy dog and this means lots of physical and mental stimulation is required. So we walk everyday rain, shine, or even snow! Unless the weather isn’t safe to be outside, we walk. If your dog isn’t as high energy, that is ok. We typically go places your dog can rest and enjoy the smells while Teddy gets his energy out. I have a hybrid work schedule and generally am in the office Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 12-5pm. My schedule is flexible though so if I know I have to be gone in the evening, I change up my days in the office so I can be home with my dog during the day. I feed the dogs 2x per day. Once in the morning and once in the evening.

I have a large fully fenced backyard, and a dog door so the pups can freely roam between inside and out. It’s a bit of a dogs paradise with lots of birds and squirrels roaming about for them to keep tabs on. I do have a medium-large sized crate for dogs that need to be crated. And feed everyone in separate spaces. The couch under my living room window is now permanently the “dogs couch”. Teddy is very good at sharing his toys and beds. There is an overabundance of dog beds throughout my house. My house used to be clean, but then I got a dog. The house now belongs to Teddy and I just live here among his beds and toys. Teddy is great with dogs of all sizes and most temperaments. I describe him as aloof but friendly. He can be playful in spirts if other dogs initiate, and while he loves being around other dogs, is very independent. The only exceptions to his easy-going persona are aggressive dogs, or dogs that have a higher than usual tendency to resource guard. For this reason I cannot except non neutered males as pretty much every instance of aggression we have come across was with a non neutered male. Regardless of size. My neighbors on 2 sides do have dogs as well. So your dogs would meet them through the fence. We have 4 legged friends over on a regular basis, and the neighbor dogs generally love greeting the new friends so long as they are not aggressive. I do allow dogs on my bed as long as I'm not sleeping. My experience has been dogs tend to lay exactly where my legs need to be. So, I usually kick them off just before turning off the lights to allow myself use of my own bed. But if your dog is happy to stay on the other side of the bed without trying to take over my side, they can stay.

A typical day
On weekdays we walk for at least 1 hour. The time of day depends on the weather. On weekends I try to give extra time and it’s not unusual for us to be out 2 hours or more. I focus on sniff walks vs. length as I know it’s just as important for dogs to use their brains as it is to use their legs to ensure they get all their energy out. Whenever the weather and schedule permit, I like to take the dogs to dog parks, trails, or hikes. Occasionally on Saturday/Sunday mornings I take the pups on a walk on the Kirkland waterfront and relax on the patio of a coffee shop. We like to get out and explore new places. Outside of the days listed above I have to be in the office, and our walks, I’m generally home most of the time with the pups. If I go somewhere the dogs can’t, I limit my time away.

Pet care experience
As a pet owner I know the pain of trying to find someone who will care for your beloved pet the way you would while away. I know how hard it can be to find care for pets with regular exercise needs. I am not a professional kennel or dog training. I am a dog mom who will love your pets like they are my own and ensure they have all their needs taken care of while they are in my home. I’ve been around pets for most of my life. My family had pets growing up, and as an adult I’ve pet sit for family and friends for over 20 years. I finally became a pet parent myself in 2022 to a mixed breed cattle dog named Teddy Bear. It was love at first sight, despite our rough start due to issues from him being labeled as a lab mix. I’ve learned from experience that breed matters when it comes to ensuring your dog’s physical as well as emotional needs are properly met. We delt with behavior issues, as well as anxiety, and food issues as Teddy moved through his “teens”. I hired a private trainer only weeks after adopting Teddy, and to this day we still participate in a variety of group training classes through most of the year. Teddy is excellent at Nose work/Scent work and loves the mental stimulation. These training lessons have taught me a lot about patience when working with dogs as well as how to work with dogs on their own level and through their style of communication. Teddy passed the Canine Good Citizen Test at only 9 months old! My motto is you are always training. I use the skills learned in the years of lessons whenever I am around dogs and it’s made me quite popular at the dog parks. My dog goes to hunt bunnies, and I go to pet all the dogs that seem naturally to be drawn to me. I only accept the dogs from 1 home at a time. Your pets will be a part of my family as long as they are under my roof.
Reviews
Finding a pet sitter who treats my Lulu like a family member and as their own is rare, but Jessica is exactly that person. If you are looking for total peace of mind while you’re away, look no further. I’ll admit, I’m obsessed with my dog, leaving Lulu is always stressful for me, but from the moment Jessica walked in for the meet and greet, my anxiety completely vanished. She has a natural, calm energy that immediately put Lulu at ease. Why I Highly Recommend Jessica: The "Lulu Approved" Factor: Lulu doesn't just like Jessica she adores her. Seeing Lulu completely melt into Jessica's lap is the ultimate seal of approval. Jessica clearly has the "magic touch" when it comes to the perfect ear and belly rubs! 🐶Expert Communication: I received regular updates, including the most adorable photos. It was the highlight of my day and allowed me to actually enjoy my trip knowing Lulu was being pampered. 🐶Attentive & Detail Oriented: Jessica followed every instruction to the letter, from specific feeding times to Lulu's quirky habits. 🐶Respectful & Reliable: I do not trust very many people with my dog but I do trust Jessica, book her now while she’s available you can thank me later!
It is so clear that Jessica adores dogs! She treats her own like her child and gives the same care to the dogs visiting her home. She used to watch my dogs for me and I never doubted they were being loved on and treated with the utmost care while in her presence.
