Experienced animal caregiver
I have been lucky to have a plethora of cats, dogs, and other small critters (rodents, snakes, lizards) since I was a little kid. My whole life has been dedicated to the care and love of animals. During high school, I regularly walked dogs and volunteered with cats at the Humane Society. Before college, I worked at a doggy daycare and pet sitting business, and I was lucky to be part of other missions caring for rescued dogs from illegal fighting rings and hoarder situations. Then, during college, I worked as a Veterinary Assistant part time for several years while I finished my degree in Wildlife Ecology. Although my career has taken me away from companion animals, I still am a proud mom to four needy kitties, and a proud aunty to all my family and friend's beloved animals. I am proud to offer fear-free experiences with your animals, especially using positive reinforcement with your dogs. I have extensive experience with special needs pets, including walking reactive or fearful pups, and medicating cats and dogs.

Communication with clients and respecting their rules is very important to me! I will make sure to let you know when I am caring for you pets. I also love providing updates from every visit or walk (unless that is too much for you!), since I really appreciate updates and photos from my pet sitters as well.

Jessica and Craig have been such a fantastic support to my dog and me since I adopted my dog when he was 20 months old, got to know him for just a few days -- then had to leave him home alone every day in a strange house (mine) and a strange neighborhood with a strange person (me) and all new sounds, smells, sights, everything new. Jessica and Craig came over lunchtime on the days when I wasn't going to be able to be at home for lunch, twice a week, to give him a "people break" and a potty break and some time to play. Now that both of their schedules have changed, they won't be able to be with Hoku for lunch on my "away" days, and we're going to really miss them. They've been fantastic support, too, for the time when I fell and couldn't walk (pretty much at all) for about a week and Hoku still needed to go outside, and for the recent work requirement that I spend two nights out of town for a conference. They've become family to Hoku and me, and we are definitely going to miss them. A lot. I so appreciate the Rover app for making this connection possible for the past couple of years, and I so appreciate Jessica and Craig for being so dependable, reliable, trustworthy, positive and upbeat, and kind. We will miss you!!!

I'm currently working as a Wildlife Biologist which includes partially working from home. My schedule is flexible and depends on the season of the research I'm doing, but when I'm home then I'm available to work with your schedule to come feed, walk, and take care of your animals' needs!

- Please let me know of any behavioral and medical needs that your animal has! I'm more than happy to accommodate, whether it's as simple as your dog not liking their ears touched, or requiring special equipment, attention, and routines during walks to help your dog feel confident and safe. Please also let me know if your animal has any allergies, especially food allergies, or if they're on any special diets.
