I have a 4 year old German Shepherd/Husky mix; and a 1 year old Alaskan Malamute. They both are incredibly playful and so very sweet. I do my best to either take them on either a half-hour walk, or take them to the playground (dog park) for around a half-hour each day. My oldest came from an abused home, and was incredibly skittish around strangers. But many trips to the playground and daycare (coupled with constant encouragement, support, love, gentleness and patience) has really helped transform her way of thinking about people. My youngest was originally a gift for a neighbor's daughter. But, their daughter didn't seem to show interest in her. Both families, at different times of my life, approached me and asked if I would want their puppy. Now, I am fortunate to have two beautiful girls under my care, all of us loving each other equally. 💜

Information Jessica B. would like to know about your pet

Of course, I would like to give the best care possible. So, knowing about any nervous behaviors, if they are socialized or need to stay solitary, if potty training is still a work in progress, what medications are needed (if any), if there are any food allergies, what makes them feel most comfortable, or what triggers any unwanted behavior... These are just to name a few. But honestly, if I have any questions, I'll ask for clarification on anything before proceeding. Not only that, but getting to know your precious companion will be a learning curve on all of us; so, I'm sure I'll have questions as I go.

A typical day

I prefer walking on nature trails, but neighborhood walking is also very comforting. If your doggy is up to date on their shots, we may go to some off leash parks to either get some social interaction, or to just throw a toy around so they have more vigorous play. During the winter months, I am not afraid to walk the fluffiest of dogs who prefer frigid weather. I enjoy watching them enjoy the snowfall.

Pet care experience

Graduating as a Veterinary Technician in 2021, I finally captured my lifelong passion of caring for animals and opened a door to endless possibilities. I received the wonderful opportunity to be hired at the general practice clinic I externed at, and eventually transitioned into the ER department for one and a half years. And although I hold many years of intermittent experience caring for a vast number of animals (from stables to hamster wheels), most of my experience involves dogs and cats inside the clinic. I have been considered "intuitive" by doctors that I have had the privilege to work with, and have gained experience in recognizing subtle signs of discomfort or irregularities in pets. I am familiar with certain conditions due to illness or young or old age, I can successfully administer proper medications, and I can properly accommodate to special needs. I am an effective communicator, and will notify and/or update you with any concerns and/or purrs and tail wags.

Jessica was so amazing with our dog Penny. My wife had to go on a business trip for a week and my work hours are just too long, we needed someone we could trust to walk and play with her. We met with her first and immediately Penny was in love. She did such a great job and sent pictures of them together having a wonderful time! She even left the sweetest little care package. We will definitely be working with her again! Thank you so much for taking the worry out of this for us!!

Jessica went above and beyond when caring for my little boy! I originally was only going to be away for 5 days for the holidays, but we had a family emergency that was risking to keep me away for longer. She was a complete life saver and agreed to extend the booking so that I could spend more time with my family after the emergency. All while this was happening, she always provided detailed notes, and pictures! She observed what my kitty liked to do, and made sure to prioritize that. She even asked several times about other enrichment like filling up his treat puzzles, or giving him some wet food!. It is very clear that Jessica cares about making your pets feel as good as they can while you are away. I can not recommend her enough!

Jessica did an amazing job taking care of my nova bean with a last minute booking!! With an emergency out of state I had no time to book an earlier drop ins. Jessica made sure I had updates of Nova and took care of her needs and provided so much love as well!! Would definitely rebook with Jessica! 💜
