Pet care experience

Every bestie deserves a buddy. ❤️

I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember, but somewhere along the way I also became a bit of an animal nerd. I genuinely love getting to know each pet's unique personality and figuring out what makes them feel safe, happy, and understood. I share my home with a dog and a cat of my own, so caring for animals isn't just something I do—it's part of my everyday life. I've worked with playful puppies, wise senior dogs, energetic adventurers, anxious pets, and those wonderfully quirky little personalities that come with their own instruction manual. Every one of them has taught me something. As the proud human of a very particular senior dog, I've become especially tuned in to the little details that make a big difference. Most pets thrive on routine, familiarity, and feeling secure, so my goal is always to make your time away feel as normal as possible for them. Whether that means sticking to a detailed medication schedule, serving dinner in exactly the right bowl, or taking the "long way" because that's their favorite route, I'm all in. I'm dependable, respectful of your home, flexible with scheduling (including evenings), and quick to adapt to each pet's individual needs. My partner is always home with our own furry family when I'm caring for yours, so when I'm with your pet, they have my full attention. You'll often find me exploring Belle Isle with adventurous pups, playing endless games of fetch, hiking local trails, or—if your best friend prefers a slower pace—curled up on the couch giving championship-level snuggles. At the end of the day, I don't just want to care for your pets—I want them to be excited to see me walk through the door. And I want you to head home knowing they were loved just as much as they were looked after.

House Sitting • Jul 29, 2022

Jessi did an amazing job dog and house-sitting for us! Jessi handled a bunch of logistical challenges while we were gone... keeping our foster pup separate from our other two dogs (they are being introduced slowly) which required shuffling dogs into different parts of the house numerous times a day, dealing with a bossy 16 year old beagle who barks incessantly for her breakfast starting at 4 am most mornings, keeping our foster dog company for 10 days, dealing with a partial power outage (taking out both of our window air conditioners on a very hot day) one day... and a total loss of power on the block literally the next day... and all the time sending us updates, pictures, and keeping us up to date on the various power loss situations. Can't say enough about how much having Jessi taking care of our place and pups was a relief while we were traveling! Highest recommendation! Thanks Jessi!

Jessi is naturally amazing at caring for animals of all ages and abilities. She is patient, affectionate, observant, and detail oriented. Any pet would be lucky to have her. And If your pet has special needs, Jessi can handle it.

Hello, Jessi is the most dependable person I know. She’s constantly putting others needs before her own and will work tirelessly to ensure each person who needs help gets it. She’s very hard working and takes pride in everything she does. Most importantly, Jessi is kind, generous, and empathetic. It goes without saying that she loves animals but it seems like she has an uncanny ability to know how people and animals are feeling. Jessi is a fantastic candidate for any role she’s considered for. Thank you.

Schedule

Right now I'm a student, which means my schedule is wonderfully flexible and I have plenty of time to dedicate to your besties. Mondays and Wednesdays are my busiest days, so my availability is a little more limited then, but if you're looking for a regular walker, don't hesitate to reach out. There's still room to make something work!

Safety, trust & environment

When your pet stays with me, they're treated like family. I have a fenced-in yard for zoomies, a spacious home full of cozy napping spots, and someone is almost always around for belly rubs, playtime, or simply keeping them company. Whether your dog is an athlete or a professional couch potato, they'll feel right at home. When I come to you, I like to think of myself as your pet's temporary personal assistant. Every visit is tailored to their personality and routine. High-energy pups can expect games of fetch, tug-of-war, long sniffy walks, or even a trip to the beach if that's their thing. More of an introvert? I'm perfectly happy to curl up with a book while your furry roommate supervises from the couch—or eventually decides my lap is acceptable. I'm comfortable administering medication, handling potty breaks, sticking to feeding routines, and navigating everything from enthusiastic eaters to tiny food critics. No judgment here—I know some pets have very strong opinions.

Pets

A typical day

One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is getting to know each animal's unique personality. Some dogs are comedians, some are adventurers, some are cuddle experts, and some act like tiny CEOs running the household. Figuring out what makes them happiest is half the fun. My own dog and I love exploring hiking trails and quiet outdoor adventures. She prefers nature over crowded dog parks, so whenever I meet a social butterfly who loves making new friends, I'm just as excited as they are. Whether your pup wants to chase a frisbee until sunset or spend the afternoon sniffing every tree on the block, I'm happy to follow their lead.

Please tell me everything! Seriously. Does your dog insist on carrying a stick three times their size? Are they convinced squirrels are public enemy number one? Do they only eat if you sing to them first? I want to know it all. The more you share about your pet's routines, quirks, preferences, and special needs, the better I can make them feel safe, comfortable, and understood while you're away. Around here, there's no such thing as too much information.
