About Jesse A.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
When I care for someone's pet I am especially attentive to their expectations and household preferences. I will learn from and value all communication, and follow instructions very carefully. I like to provide pictures. I really like to form relationships, but I am also available as much as possible to fill in when someone really needs reliable last minute help.
Information Jesse A. would like to know about your pet
It is important to have accurate assessments of dogs and their needs. I work with a wide variety of dogs and have rehabbed sick, injured, neglected, and abused dogs. I'm not worried about bad behaviors or a dog being just too cute. I do want to know the dogs behaviors, and anything it is afraid of or responds strongly to. For example our dog Ginger is afraid of men, but responds well to being held and petted by them. She also barks at thunder and needs comfort during storms. She will run away at first before allowing herself to be collected if she knows she was misbehaving. She barks at other dogs until corrected if she thinks they are in the wrong place. Information like this might not make Ginger sound perfect, but it is very helpful for a care taker.
A typical day
I will walk with, run with, play fetch with, sit with, brush, and do some training with dogs that I watch. I will adjust to each dog based on input from the dog parent and based on my observations with the dog.

Pet care experience
I have cared for, trained, boarded, and stayed in homes to watch animals throughout the last 30 years in the United States and abroad. I will value you and your animals and expect that you value my time. Rover takes 25% and doesn't take care of sitters. That's why my rates are high.
Cat care experience

Jesse also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.
Reviews

Jesse A. stepped in at the last second when our dog sitter canceled hours before a trip. He took good care of our dogs and was extremely communicative. He was very adaptable and respectful. I would book him again to take care of our dogs.
Jesse has been taking care of my beagle mix long term while my family is away from the country. He is a patient pet caregiver who seeks the best for each animal in his care. He is very knowledgeable about animals and uses best practices in his caregiving. I highly recommend him if you are considering being away from your family pets for a short or long time. Jesse has proven to be trustworthy and that is crucial when you seek to entrust someone with such an important part of the family.
