I’m currently working full time with the majority of my hours at home. I will never take on a booking where I am expected to be out of the house for several hours. I have several walking options nearby via foot and car for both toilets breaks and long walks. I will plan around your booking so that I am home practically all day and this includes making sure that I reserve time for two long walks a day as well as frequent toilet breaks. I also take on a max of two guest dogs at a time and don’t take dual bookings where I have never cared for either dog before to ensure good dog daycare behaviour.

I have a crate in my home for my own dog during meal times as well as a play pen/ gate to discourage dogs from getting into the wrong spaces and to separate dogs if I cannot monitor them all safely. All four-legged friends receive after walk care such as paw wipes or a quick hose down after muddy walks, brushing to remove stuck on plants and twigs, and a blow dry to avoid matting for long haired dogs.

Any details are always helpful but most importantly please let me know if your dog is good at greeting/ ignoring other dogs, or any other people we may encounter such as cyclists, joggers etc. Any resource guarding or non neutral behaviour of any kind should be shared with me. I’m capable of supporting any reactive behaviour but am best equipped when I know your dog needs the support.
A typical day
I like to do both physical and mental activities and for each day of care, I typically plan two walks that allow for lots of sniffing. I have long lines for dogs that like the freedom but makes sure we are tethered together. This includes woodland walks where there are less cars, people, and dogs. I also use snuffle mats, treat dispensing wobble toys, licki mats and self-made puzzle toys for mental enrichment for high energy breeds. If you’d like me to rent an enclosed field near me as part of your dog’s stay then please let me know and I’ll see if I can accommodate.

Please note, I live in an apartment but my profile incorrectly states I live in a house due to Rover issues. I am a first aid trained pet sitter with several years experience caring for dogs of all different shapes and sizes. I care for my guest dogs like they are my own, meaning they are always welcome in any room of my home. I also have my own fluffy dog, Pepper, who I have spent lots of time training since he was a puppy. This means I have plenty of knowledge in supporting your puppy as they learn to navigate the world. I follow positive reinforcement training methods only. Pepper also loves playing with the guest dogs. I know how to support leash reactive dogs and have plenty of experience in managing this behaviour during walks. I’m always armed with treats in a pocket and will treat your dog if allowed.

Jess took excellent care of Kimi as always, she gets so excited when she realises where we’re going and runs straight to the front door
Jess is very calm, friendly and easy going. She was happy to accommodate our earlier drop off and late pick up the next day and was great about helping to settle Fin in as it was his first stay at her place. Fin was very happy when I picked him up. Will definitely be using Jess again and would highly recommend.
We know Kimi loves spending time at Jess’ by the way she sprints to her front door and runs inside without turning back. We wouldn’t hesitate to ask Jess again for dog care
Really positive experience with Jess! Gus can be nervous with new people but Jess (and Pepper) were so good with him. We got a lovely video/update which was much appreciated. We will definitely be using Jess again, without a doubt!
