Ready to love your pup as my own!
I have been pet sitting for most of my life and have recently worked with a licensed pet sitting company here in Davis as well, making me background check approved and certified to care for your pets! As a sitter/caregiver you can expect good communication, a journal update, and adorable pictures with every visit (I’ve been told I should be a pet photographer by some clients!). I understand the significance pets have as part of the family and would love to provide the care that you are looking for your sweet angel baby. I love going on runs, so if your dog needs some high level exercise or just a walk, I am the perfect fit! I have experience with puppies, older dogs/cats, medicated animals, reactive animals, and anxious ones too. I understand the time, love, and gentleness required to gain trust with animals and am very much so able to support your pet and their unique needs in order to do so. I worked as a kennel technician at a vet clinic for 3 years which gave me the skills to administer oral meds as well as give injections (such as insulin..). I also have experience with training dogs (young and old) and am happy to support your pup in building new habits. In my free time I enjoy drawing, hiking, car-camping, beach days, running, and hanging out at home with the critters of “Jenny’s Jungle”. My cohort of rescue animals include a pittie (Thor), a cattle dog mix (Bingo), a very social one-eyed orange cat (Cheeto Puff), a red tailed boa (Aziti), and a ball python (Noodle). I completed a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science then a masters and PhD in Animal Biology at the University of California – Davis. As an Animal Scientist, and animal lover, I am committed to advocating for high standards of animal stewardship in both my personal and professional life and look forward to the opportunity to care for your pets too, big and small! Jenny is an outstanding pet sitter! She housesat and watched our dog for a week and she made it so easy for us to relax knowing she holding down the fort at home. She sent us detailed daily messages and photos of our pup and she seemed to get our reactive dog and what she needed right away. She took her on nice long walks and we felt confident in her ability to handle the pulling and barking that usually ensues. Jenny was also so great about remembering every little detail about caring for the house and confirmed with us when packages were brought it, garbage cans taken out to the street, etc. Most of all, she seemed to really gain the trust of our dog and we could see from the pictures and videos that she sent that our dog not only became comfortable with Jenny, she seemed to be having fun, looking happy and cuddling up with her new bud. We really could not have asked for a better sitter and would highly recommend Jenny to anyone looking for a trustworthy, highly competent, communicative sitter.
Jenny is awesome! She clearly loves dogs and treated our dog as if she were her own. Jenny took our dog to the dog park, took her on walks, and sent us photos during her stay. I would whole-heartedly recommend Jenny for any/all dog care needs. Thank you, Jenny!
Jenny has a passion for all animals! As a graduate student studying animal biology AND a fantastic pet owner herself, there is no animal lover better to take care of your pet! She loves her own dog immensely and does anything she needs to do to be the best pet owner she can be! She is great with attention to detail and would follow any instructions perfectly and your dog would be perfectly taken care of. I trust my own pets in her hands and they are in great hands.
I've never met someone who is more passionate about animals. The care she provided for my dog was above and beyond. I would highly recommend her to care for and walk any and all dogs. She's kind, responsible and experienced. She would be my first pick always.
