Jenny and Joe’s Home
I'm a freelance animator currently working from home with my partner Joe. Having grown up with dogs in our home I know how important a part of the family they are! Our beautiful springer spaniel passed away days away from her 15th birthday in 2019, instead of getting another companion straight away we wanted to enjoy a little more freedom but decided to use Rover as a way of not completely having a dog-free house. We are very experienced, having looked after dogs of all shapes and sizes, as they help me get up off my computers and out in the sunshine (and rain,)! We treat all dogs staying with us like they are part of our family. Our house is in a great central location and has a medium-sized back garden with grass which is completely enclosed with a fence so dogs can come and go as they please when they are relaxing during the day. Working from home means we are really flexible with pick-up and drop-off times and can keep dogs with their regular walking and feeding times. I will always send regular daily updates so you can rest easy that your dog is having a great time! Living a short distance from Pentire, the Gannel and many beaches, all my guests are treated to one or two 45-minute, off-the-lead walks throughout the day (if they are good at responding to their name!) and lots of opportunities for good sniffs. During a home visit or house sitting I will try and keep to your dog's routine as closely as I can with walks and feeding. Individual visits can be from 1 - 8 hours at a time depending on the needs of the animals, as I can bring my laptop and work from your home so I can spend quality time with all your pets. I can also be in to collect deliveries and water any plants while you're away. If this is your dog's first time boarding with me I will always make sure that it's my only booking so we can get to know each other properly and I can learn how they are with other dogs and their routine, only if you and another owner are happy will I board dogs together. We understand some dogs do need extra care or a calmer environment in older age whereas some dogs will love making new friends. I ask you to provide any food, treats, bedding and toys that will make your dog feel really at home, it's also good for us to know if there are any training points you want me to work on during our stay e.g. toilet training, not letting them on the sofa or upstairs, lead walking and recall.

Highly recommend Jenny 5*. I booked the day before and had a reply straight away to say all ok. Super friendly, dog friendly house snd garden. Had updates all day and I could tell Ted had the best time he was so happy ! Thankyou so much for looking after ted 😊
A last minute booking and I’m so glad I found Jenny! My little Dachshund came to stay with her for the night and I couldn’t have wished for a better person. I got lots of pictures and updates and was very happy with her service. I would definitely recommend Jenny and will be using her again in the future
Our dachshund Ralph is quite timid, but he loves it when Jenny comes to look after him. This was our 3rd or 4th time having Jenny sitting Ralph in our home while we had a few days away, and as always she was very professional and punctual, and sent us plenty of photos of their adventures together. Would absolutely recommend to anybody!
Jen and Joe were amazing. It was our first time leaving our 1 yr old labradoodle and they made us feel really calm and happy to leave our dog with them whilst we attended a wedding. They were super friendly, understanding of our dog’s needs and our anxiety of leaving her for the first time. We got great photos and were able to completely enjoy the wedding without worrying. Thank you we will book again if we come back down to Cornwall Ems and Paul xx
Our Cockerpoo Bonnie had a great time with Jenny and Joe for 3 nights. Lots of photos. Lots of walks. Would definitely recommend and use again. 👍

A typical day
When I have your dog to stay overnight or in the day I usually start with a bit of old fashioned bribery with a few treats and but scratches to settle them in and start exploring their new surroundings. Once they have settled and we have had a play and a wee in the garden we will go on a walk together somewhere near and get them really tired out. Then we come back and have some more treats for being good and a good snooze while I get on with some work. A few toilet breaks later and it'll be time for dinner and off to bed.
