I have been around dogs and cats my entire life, so caring for animals is second nature to me. Growing up, my responsibilities included daily walks, feeding, and litter box maintenance, giving me early experience in animal care. I've handled dogs of all sizes, including large breeds like Great Danes. While in college, I volunteered for four years at the local humane society, where I walked dogs and spent time socializing with cats, assisting with playtime, and helping with cleaning duties. Following that, I worked for a year with a local pet-sitting business, handling dog walking and daily visits for both dogs and cats. I also regularly pet sit for friends and family, so I’m very familiar with a wide range of pet personalities and needs. Since 2023, I’ve gained extensive hands-on experience through Rover, caring for pets with a wide variety of personalities, routines, and medical needs. I’ve worked with both dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, and temperaments. I always prioritize making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’ve also gained experience administering pet medications and am comfortable giving insulin shots to dogs, using inhalers for cats, and managing both oral and liquid medications. My husband and mom also help me with pet sitting and animal care, so your pets may receive love and attention from our family. We work together to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. Currently, we have an 18 year old senior cat, Princess, with kidney disease and GI issues, so I’m very experienced with caring for older pets, monitoring health concerns, handling special diets and medications, and managing unexpected messes or extra care needs. We recently lost our beloved cat Tony, who was a lively and affectionate companion, and caring for him through his senior years deepened my understanding of the patience, compassion, and attentiveness pets deserve as they age. My husband and I also had a Shar Pei/Pitbull mix named Athena, who passed away four years ago and is still deeply missed. Athena had a gentle and unique personality, and our bond taught me so much about the joy and responsibility of pet care. I approach every animal I care for as if they were my own, and I truly enjoy spending time with all the fur babies I meet.
