I always ask about their daily routine, including feeding times, portion sizes, and any special dietary needs. It’s also essential to know their behavior around other animals, people, and new environments, as well as any fears or triggers they might have—like loud noises or separation anxiety. I check if they have any medical conditions, medications, or allergies, and get emergency contact info for both the vet and the owner. Lastly, I ask about their favorite toys, activities, and any house rules they’re used to. Knowing all of this ahead of time helps me provide the best possible care.

We’ll go on walks to nearby parks or trails to enjoy the nice weather and get some exercise. I’ll also play interactive games like fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek with treats to keep them mentally engaged. For indoor fun, I’ll rotate toys and maybe even try simple training games or puzzles to challenge them. If the pet enjoys water, we might have some supervised splash time in a kiddie pool or with a sprinkler.
