Availability
I work full-time during the week, but I’m a year-round Ketchikan resident and have plenty of flexibility outside of my workday. I’m available for walks and drop-ins before or after work, evenings, weekends, and overnight house sitting. When I’m house sitting, I’m happy to spend my downtime at your home so your pets have plenty of company and can stick as closely as possible to their normal routine. If your pet has specific timing or needs, just let me know. I’m happy to talk through their routine and make sure my schedule is a good fit before you book.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. When I’m caring for them in your home, I’ll respect your space and keep their routine as close to normal as possible. I’m comfortable with feeding, exercise, medications, and any special instructions you have. When I’m caring for your pets in your home, I want things to feel as normal as possible for them while you’re away. I’ll follow their usual feeding, walking, medication, and bedtime routines, along with any other instructions you leave for me. I’m respectful of your home and take both your pet’s safety and the security of your home seriously. I’m comfortable with detailed instructions, medications, special needs, and pets who may need a little extra time to get comfortable with someone new. I’ll also keep you updated while you’re away. If you want lots of pictures, videos, and updates, I’m happy to send them. If you’re more of a “no news is good news” person, that works for me too.
Information Jennifer T. would like to know about your pet
The more you can tell me about your pet, the better! I want to know their normal routine, favorite things, quirks, fears, and anything else that will help me understand them. Please be upfront about any behavioral concerns, including separation anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding, escape attempts, accidents in the house, or situations that make them nervous or uncomfortable. None of those things automatically mean I won’t care for your pet. I just want to know what to expect so I can keep both of us safe and make them as comfortable as possible. I’m also comfortable with senior and special needs pets, medications, and detailed care routines. If there’s something you think I should know, even if it seems small or a little weird, tell me. I’d always rather have too much information than not enough.
A typical day
A typical day really depends on your pet and what they’re used to. I’m happy to keep up with their normal routine, whether that means walks around the neighborhood, getting outside to explore, playing with their favorite toys, working on basic training, or hanging out at home together. For pets who love being outside, I’m always up for a good walk and some fresh air. For the professional nappers and couch potatoes, I’m also very good at providing company and a comfortable place to curl up. Tell me what your pet loves, what their normal day looks like, and what makes them happiest. I’ll do my best to make their time with me feel less like you’re gone and more like they gained a temporary new friend.

Loving Care for Pets of All Kinds
Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm in southwest Minnesota and have had dogs and cats my entire life. I’ve cared for everything from puppies and kittens to senior and special needs pets, along with foster animals. I’m comfortable giving medications, working on basic training, and following whatever routine your pet is used to. I’m a full-time, year-round Ketchikan resident and available for house sitting, drop-ins, walks, and other pet care. I’m especially happy to stay with pets in their own home, where they’re comfortable and can keep as much of their normal routine as possible. Most of my experience is with dogs and cats, but I’m open to caring for just about any animal. If you have something other than a dog or cat, just ask! Give me the rundown on what they need and I’m happy to learn. I know leaving your pets with someone else can be stressful, so communication is completely up to you. If you want a ridiculous number of pictures and videos, I’m your person. If you’d rather just hear from me when there’s something you need to know, I can do that too.
