I've been a pet sitter at different times throughout my life starting at age 10 both in peoples homes and taking in pets when friends have been deployed by the military or needing to find a safe secure place for pets when going through chemo treatments and unable to properly care for their pets short term. Pet care has been my life as I previously owned an Irish Setter and Siberian Husky living to 14 and 15 respectively. Thus my understanding for the need for a quality sitter for middle age and older dogs needing a little extra. Currently, I live and breath dog hair with my husband as we have 3 calm and loving spaniels willing to open their dog beds to share with others.

I'm home daily to attend to watching dogs for daycare and overnight stays. As mentioned above our house is 1 level with a 6ft fence. It's carpeted so all pets must be house trained however it's great for senior dogs needing the stable footing and softer places to lie. I have 3 Spaniels 2 are 7yrs old and a 3 yr old, all are fixed. They are very friendly and easy going they like to play but don't like overly rambunctious dogs in their faces all the time. They love snoozing while I work and rounds of play on break. You can expect your pet to be able to enjoy a calm environment with several choices of places to rest, a huge toy basket and outdoor time every 2-3 hours where they can choose to romp, explore, or plop down and observe the birds. When the weather is nice they can also choose to sunbath or hang out under a shady tree.

Information Jennifer S. would like to know about your pet
I will want to know what is important to you and base the care on what is needed. Dogs will need to be potty trained, well mannered, have basic vaccinations and on flea and tick medicine. Dogs must be comfortable being crated for a short period of time when I step out for errands or in order to feed dogs on a rotating basis so no one dog gets uncomfortable with food around. Or if a dog gets to beggy at the kitchen table while humans are eating. Again, Meet and greets are very important as it is during this time it is assessed whether all the dogs will get along for a period of time. Getting along includes play and curious interest or hey I acknowledge you and I'm cool with just being in your space. In emergent situations I can also do Rover video chats under certain circumstances to determine if a dog would be a good fit but likely after the video chat an in person meet and greet will still be required. Other information: I do have experience with dogs that are blind and hard of hearing as our senior dogs before passing experienced this. Senior dogs must be mobile enough to walk on their own to get outside and must not be in unnecessary pain. I also have experience sitting a bird as long as your bird is cool about dogs in the vicinity. Staying longer than a week can be discussed on a case by case basis.
A typical day
A typical day for boarding will be based on your dogs needs this can be discussed during the initial meeting . Daycare dogs will be able to enjoy a comfy snoozing spot and fun backyard breaks with playtime. I only take dogs at my discretion and certain breeds are not accepted due to my homeowners insurance coverage. A meet and greet is a must so leave enough time before your trip to schedule a meet and greet. This is the best way to make sure all the dogs are safe and your dog is comfortable in the new home environment and the resident dogs are not stressed.

Peaceful SafeHaven for Furry Family
Pet care experience
Focus on dogs who need a gentler environment to hang out for the day or overnight stays. Our house is one level and carpeted for those needing stable footing. Therefore, dogs must be house trained and on flea/tic meds. The Backyard is spacious enclosed with a 6ft fence, big enough to throw a ball or spend time exploring the squirrel trails. All guests must be friendly towards other dogs as there are 3 resident spaniels for your pup to become friends with. I'm experienced with medication application including daily injections. Meet and Greets are welcomed and encouraged for peace of mind.
Reviews

Charley had another great stay with Jennifer! We appreciate all the photos and updates 😃. Charley was very excited when we dropped her off and very comfortable with Jennifer.
This is our second boarding experience with Jennifer and she took good care of Blaze! He fit in really well with her doggy crew, she shared so many pictures and messages which helped us feel at ease being away... she even did a custom, adorable Valentines themed photoshoot with Blaze. Really appreciate you Jennifer!

Jennifer did an amazing job with my families dog Ozzie. It was his fist time every staying overnight with anyone else other than family but she made it like a family experience! She opened her home and made my dog feel like one of the crew. She sent little updates and daily pictures and was a super great host to my animal.

Jennifer was fantastic with Lola! Sent lots of photos and was great at communicating.
