Pet care experience

#1 Head-Scratch Supplier

I grew up with labradors and have been a pet-lover ever since! Growing up, I pet sat for neighbors and family friends and was a part-time dog walker in college. Now, I am a pet sitter for my friends and community members and have been sitting and walking for some cats and dogs in Seattle for almost 10 years! I love my dog nieces and nephews.

Jen walks my dog Libby Monday - Friday and keeps her happy while I’m away at work!! My dog has hip arthritis and needs to be walked twice a day. Grateful she helps me with the first walk!!

Schedule

I work hybrid every day and have a pretty flexible work schedule. I am in-office for about 4 hours Monday-Thursday in the afternoons and fully remote on Fridays, giving me extra time to hang out with pets! Depending on the specific needs of the pet, I can usually adjust my schedule to accommodate pet needs. :)

Safety, trust & environment

Since I grew up with pets (and lived with a dog in college), I still default to keeping my home pet-friendly, meaning food is stowed away and sharp/fragile objects are kept in drawers. I have also watched my fair share of curious, exploratory pets who are skilled at getting where they don't belong. If that means keeping my bags in a locked room when I am not home or making sure there's no food left anywhere (even on top of the fridge!) I have seen it all.

A typical day

I love to play with pets and am famously a fan of riling up pets. I love when cats have their little string toys to chase and dogs love to run around in their house, yard, or at the park. If I am dog-sitting, I make sure dogs get a walk in before I leave the house for a little bit even if they have a backyard. I always like to tell people that sniffing out surroundings is like your dog doing a math problem. It's good for their brains!
