Animals have been at the center of my life for decades. Before pet care and dog walking, I spent 36 years as a horse trainer. I also ran a home-based dog and cat rescue in Mexico, helping animals heal, build trust, and find them loving homes. I also volunteered at the Surrey SPCA. I’m experienced with dogs who have anxiety, reactivity, aggression, or medical needs. Sensitive animals tend to settle with me quickly. I read body language well and adjust my approach to what each dog needs. I offer on-leash and off-leash walks based on your dog’s training, recall, and your preferences. Each walk is tailored to your dog’s energy level and comfort—whether that’s a calm stroll or a fun adventure. Off-leash time is only done with your approval, in safe, designated areas I know well. I’m familiar with local trails and parks, including Campbell Valley and Derby Reach, plus several great dog-friendly parks nearby, depending upon the area. Or, if you prefer, around your neighborhood. My goal is simple: your dog gets a safe, fun walk and real connection. You get peace of mind knowing they’re with someone reliable who genuinely cares. I can also accommodate one small dog for boarding or daycare in my home. I work from home, so they get plenty of attention throughout the day—I previously had a Chihuahua, so I’m very familiar with small dogs and their needs. I’m also comfortable with dogs of all sizes for care in your home. I also have experience with cats of all temperaments, horses, bunnies, birds, goats, and sheep.

Jennifer was absolutely amazing . It’s always so stressful going on holidays and leaving your pet behind but Jennifer made this easy . She keeps you updated responses instantly to texts sends photos of your pet and goes above and beyond to make your pet feel safe and loved . She even got up in the night when my cat was crying and slept on the couch to comfort him . I will be hiring Jennifer anytime I need a pet sitter she is truly incredible. Her years of experience and knowledge are also a huge bonus ! She can answer any question you have and make recommendations to make your pet happier and healthier. Jennifer is 5/5 absolutely amazing !

Jennifer is the most wonderful friendly lady. Mokka can be unsure with people at first. Not with Jennifer, she took to her right away. Jennifer took her for nice long walks, morning, noon & night & kept me posted through out the day with pictures & text. I could see just how much fun Mokka was having with her over the 2 nights & 3 days. When I came to pick Mokka up, she was so relaxed a sleep in her bed, it warmed my heart to see Mokka so happy & I new was so well taken care of. I would recommend Jennifer 100% to anyone for pet sitting your precious pet. She will be my pet sitter for Mokka from now on.
Jennifer has this rare, natural way with animals that you can’t teach. Animals feel safe with her instantly, and I’ve seen it over and over again. She’s the only person I trust with my dog because I know she treats every animal with the same love and attention she gives her own. You won’t find anyone more dedicated.

Pet care is my full focus, and I’m committed to providing reliable, trusted care for every pet I work with. I’m available weekdays, evenings, and weekends with flexible scheduling for walks, drop-ins, and sitting.

I create a calm, safe environment where pets feel comfortable, secure, and loved. I carefully follow their routines, pay close attention to their behavior and needs, and provide warm, trusted, attentive care so they feel relaxed and happy.

A typical day
A typical day starts with their normal routine, including feeding and care exactly as instructed. Dogs go out for walks based on their energy and personality. Whether they enjoy longer walks on trails like Campbell Valley or Derby Reach, or prefer shorter neighbourhood walks as seniors, I tailor the walk to the animal. I let them explore, sniff, and move at their own pace. I also play fetch or spend time with them one-on-one depending on what they enjoy. If they are young or active, we stay busy. If they are older or more relaxed, we take things slow and just spend time together. At home, they get undivided attention and companionship so they don’t feel alone. I treat them like my own, with love, cuddles, and attention just like they get from their owners. I make sure they are comfortable, understood, and cared for the way their owner would want.

- I like to know each pet’s routine, personality, and any triggers or sensitivities ahead of time. This includes feeding schedules, walking preferences, behavior around other dogs or people, and any medical needs. I also ask about what comforts them so I can keep things familiar and consistent while you’re away.
