Pet care experience
Home full time, fully fenced yard
**Will be accepting new dogs for boarding and daycare in October. Currently available for home visits and cat care.** I am a stay-at-home mom who has been dog sitting for many years. I have met some wonderful dogs, but I would love to add a few new pups to our "pack". We welcome one or two small dogs (15 lbs or smaller) at a time into our home for overnight stays (dog boarding) or daytime playdates. I also offer 1-2 home visits for dogs, cats, and rabbits in the Kanata/Stittsville area only. My main assistant, Shadow, is a 10 year old shihpoo who is happy to greet visitors and is a dedicated supervisor during playdates, eager to show her new friends around our home and especially our backyard. I have two teenagers, aged sixteen and nineteen, who enjoy playing and snuggling with all dogs. Our house is located in Kanata (Katimavik) and is easy to get to from the 417. It is a single home with a fully fenced yard. Dogs can spend as much time as they want outside. We have a ramp for the deck, if your dog has trouble with stairs. We go on at least two walks a day. There are a few parks nearby that we visit, but the dogs are always on leash. We spend most of our time on the main floor of the house, which has a living room, dining room and kitchen/den. The dogs are allowed on the furniture and we have a few dog beds that they can sleep on. I have experience administering medication when necessary and have cared for a blind dog and a couple of lovely elderly ladies. Photos and text updates are provided throughout the day.

Jennifer was wonderful with my cat, and provided lots of love and care while we were away! She sent photos everyday and gave detailed updates so we always knew how things were going. If you are looking for someone who truly cares about the well-being of your pet, I would highly recommend her services!
Jennifer provided excellent care for my dog for a week of boarding. The dog was returned happy and healthy for what matters to me. I could notice that my dog was behaving more disciplined after stay than before :) I love that! Definitely she wasn’t spoiled or taught any bad habits which I really appreciate! Than you Jennifer!
Jennifer really helped me out with a last minute request and was fantastic with my 2 cats. She sent pictures when stopped in to feed them and spent time playing and cuddling with them. Would definitely recommend her and I will hire Jennifer again in the future.
Jennifer has been really helpful with my last minute requests and helped my anxious pup spend quality time. Timely update and photos always help pet owners and she’s on point t with that. Happy that Lima has found a companion in shadow 🥲
Jennifer has been an absolute gem! She has been fantastic at addressing the needs of my older dog (stairs and slippery floor), which has been greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Jennifer (well maybe not too much, so she does not get too busy and is not available for future booking ;) )
Jennifer provided excellent care to my (nervous 17 yr old) dog Rosie. She was so kind and gave daily updates and photos. I was able to enjoy my time away without worrying. I highly recommend Jennifer and I will definitely book with her again

Schedule
I am home full-time due to a chronic illness. While this illness keeps me from working a "normal" job, I love to care for the animals I welcome into my home. I am also able to travel short distances to check in on the pets in your home while you are away.

I have a fenced yard that dogs can access anytime, with a ramp for the deck, if needed. My children are dog lovers too, especially my 16 year old. He enjoys playing and snuggling with the dogs that visit.
Pets
A typical day
Shadow and I go on at least two walks a day and visit the backyard often. She uses snuffle mats and slow feeder bowls to eat her meals and we play with her favourite monkey and ball when she is in the mood. When we have guests, I follow their lead. Some dogs love to play and explore, others prefer to chill and rest. I make sure to ask about their typical routines and invite the parents to bring favourite toys or beds for their stay, for familiarity and comfort purposes. Since I am home full-time, I have a flexible schedule.
