My husband and I have spent several years taking in foster dogs, handicapped dogs, and stray dogs. Providing a loving home for our furry friends is something we love to do. Derrick also ran a dog-walking business in New York City several years ago. After putting our dog in a kennel on one occasion we realized it was something we never wanted to do again. Since then we have also been extending the home stay option to other dog owners. We treat every dog who comes in our house as our own. My husband and I are in and out throughout the day, so dogs aren't left alone for long periods. They have a spacious fenced-in backyard to run and play. We also go for walks around the family-friendly neighborhood. Our adopted dog is very mild-mannered and has not disagreed with any dog. Our children have grown up having dogs in and out and therefore used to being around and behaving well around dogs of all kinds.
