Loving & Reliable Pet Caregiver
I've taken care of, trained, and raised animals for well over 25 years, including dogs, cats, and farm animals. I currently have one fully vaccinated goldendoodle named Argus. He is incredibly kind to people and dogs and a great companion to our guests. My home is pet friendly where dogs are welcome on the furniture and to sleep in bed with the pack unless they prefer their crate. Plus we have an incredible fenced backyard. I have experience giving medicine, including injections for fluids or insulin and oral medications, if your pet is special needs. Please note that you need to let me know before you book if your pet requires medication or special needs - it may impact the number of pets I host. I try to send at least 1 picture per day and provide updates regularly, occasionally, especially if your pet is high energy, we might be very busy playing or supervising and I might be slow to send pictures - rest assured it's because my attention is on your beloved pet. I do my best to accommodate last minute requests if I can and will always prioritize repeat clients. It will take some time to respond during week days or late at night. Dogs usually feel incredibly at ease in my home, even if their normal temperament is a little nervous or anxious. I've always been a magnet for both kids and animals to find comfort and love and can soothe pets through less-than-optimal behaviors with positive reinforcement and a firm "no," when needed. I typically cap boarding at a max of 3 dogs including my own. Dogs seem to really enjoy being part of a pack during their stay, so I'm a huge fan of giving them that experience - plus it feels like they're taking a vacation at a dog park! :)

Schedule
We go out at least 3 times a day - morning potty break, after work exercise & potty, and another potty break before bed. Usually, we add a walk or very active play time in at lunch or dinner, depending on weather and energy levels and which office I'm working in. I always make sure dogs get rest and if they're tired or struggling, we'll adjust. On high heat days, I make sure to walk early morning or late evening to avoid any paw injuries on hot pavement. One icy days or snow days, we take precautions and I make sure to monitor time playing in the snow. When boarding a puppy (under 1 year) or an anxious first-timer, I make sure to come home during lunch breaks to reinforce potty training habits and set them up for success in a new space.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I offer lots of cuddle time, belly rubs, training reinforcement (but not new training), and a calm environment (minus normal dog chaos, of course) I also offer constant supervision on weekends and prefer dogs who do well outside of a crate, but if your dog is used to crate time alone, I can keep that routine for them. The first night or so, your pup will probably adjust to neighborhood noises and household routines, but usually by night 2, they're sleeping through the night again and well-adjusted. I have two kids (13 and 10), one of whom has aspirations to become a veterinarian. Both kids are well-taught in pet behavior and will slowly approach new dogs. They're attentive to reactions, needs, and care and know how to give space. We also have an incredibly friendly goldendoodle, who has been very loving helping other dogs adjust to board his entire life. We're generally quiet and spend a lot of time with our pup at the park or playing at home. I can provide either timed feeding or free-feeding, depending on your pet's needs. Our dog is allowed on furniture and sleeps in bed with his human. Your dog will be welcome to do the same. Argus is non-territorial and non-aggressive, although absolutely full of puppy doodle energy. We did recently move, so we're still settling into our new home and may be working or assembling furniture when you arrive. We have chews, toys, beds, and lots of other comforts to make your pet's stay a great experience! You'll need to provide food, leash, a favorite toy and any supplements or medications. If your dog is still potty training or otherwise needs pee pads, you'll need to provide those as well.

A typical day
On weekends - mornings are usually outside for bathroom break, then breakfast, followed with lots of morning cuddles and play time. Evenings - dinner, family cuddle time with kids, play and excercise, treats and training reinforcement Bedtime - wind everyone down, last bathroom break, and then pile into bed. I have a chair and dog beds in my room for those who don't want to share space, but almost everyone usually ends up in bed and cuddling. We typically walk around our neighborhood. We have a great dog friendly and fully fenced yard. I use tandem leashing for most walks, although some larger dogs do better on a solo leash and I make sure to do so. Most dogs do well on tandem after the first 2 walks. If your pup is more skittish or has a history of shelter trauma, I will keep him or her on a single leash to give lots of space.
