I keep pets on their normal routine as much as possible. Same feeding times, same walk schedule, same weird little habits. In my experience that's what actually keeps them calm when their people are away. I've handled a range of situations: months-long stays, a family's medical emergency during COVID when I took over care of their Chihuahua and cat on short notice, multi-pet households, and senior dogs with real medical needs. I ask a lot of questions up front so nothing surprises me later. I understand how important your pet is to your family, and I take that responsibility seriously. Jenny was an amazing dog sitter for Buddy! I truly can’t thank her enough for the care and attention she gave him while I was away. She was incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and clearly cared about making sure Buddy was happy and comfortable. She even ran into issues getting into my apartment because the concierge wasn’t at the front desk, but she was so patient and determined to make sure Buddy was taken care of. That level of dedication really meant a lot. On the last day, I told her she only needed to stop by in the morning since I’d be home that afternoon. However, when it started raining and thundering, she became concerned about Buddy and came back to check on him just to make sure he was okay. That extra effort showed how much she genuinely cared. She also kept me updated with plenty of photos, and it was obvious Buddy had a great time with her. I highly recommend Jenny to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter. I would absolutely book with her again in a heartbeat!
I highly recommend Jennifer as a responsible and loving pet caregiver. She took care of my cat, Leo, wonderfully when I was away for several weeks. Jennifer made sure Leo was fed and played with him all the time. She even moved into my apartment during that period to ensure he wasn't lonely. Schedule
I'm a Regional Director at a DC nonprofit and I work from home full time. So your pet isn't alone all day while I'm at an office. I'm always trying to hit 10,000 steps anyway, so a dog who needs long walks is a feature, not a chore. Midday walks, extra potty breaks, whatever the routine calls for, my schedule bends. I've also pet sit in nearly every corner of the area, from Brookland to Capitol Hill to Old Town Alexandria to Arlington. That matters more than it sounds. I already know the good walking routes, which parks get crowded, where the dog-friendly patios are, and how to get around your neighborhood without a learning curve. D
