I am currently a 2nd year veterinary student that has needed to take a medical deferral for a year. I plan to return to OSU CCVM to finish my doctorate degree, during the Winter 2027 term. During the month of May '26, I expect to be transitioning into a veterinary clinic job in Eugene, OR. I will do my best to accommodate all requests in the meantime and I will be transparent about any scheduling conflicts. I am hoping to spend the next year focusing on my health, continuing my veterinary learning at a pace that suits my current needs, spending time with my cats and my partner, and exploring OR.

I will reliably provide updates on the status of your pets and provide immediate reports if I notice anything abnormal or medically concerning during our visit. I am always available to be contacted if there are any concerns during the services or leading up to the services. In my time off from veterinary school, I plan to pursue BLS/ALS RECOVER CPR certification in Portland, OR in mid May. Fingers crossed that I am able to find a class with space but I will update my profile once I have official certification shortly! How cool to have a legit medical professional as a pet/house sitter while you're away! 😎 On top of being an approved Rover sitter/covered by the Rover guarantee, I have additional insurance coverage and am bonded through an external company to simply give myself and your family peace of mind while you're away!

Please do not hesitate to inform me if your pet has any special conditions or if there are any medication routines that must be maintained during my scheduled services. Please notify me of any concerns with separation anxiety and I will do my best to accommodate any scheduling constraints with my clinic to the best of my ability.
Ein typischer Tag
A typical day of fun activities with the pets that I will be watching, will be entirely dependent on the individual pet! (and also their parent) :) If I am working with a high energy breed, I will do my absolute best to get out their energy with either a long walk/hike or visit their favorite park/outdoor area (as permitted by the parent/client). If the pet I am working with is a senior and has a specific routine and medications that must be maintained, I will uphold whatever tasks necessary to ensure their comfortability. If I am working with a cat, I will work around what their boundaries are to ensure they are as comfortable as can be during my visit. Ultimately, I will have to rely on whatever I discuss with the parent to guide my visit with their pet(s) - fur kids.

Erfahrung in der Haustierbetreuung
• Veterinary student • Fear Free • *pending BLS/ALS RECOVER CPR certification coming 05/16* • • Transparent, reliable, and attentive care backed by extensive clinical experience • I’m Jennifer, a 2nd yr veterinary student at Oregon State University with an interest in small animal medicine and feline-centered care. I have 10+ years of hands-on experience working with (primarily) dogs and cats in both shelter and clinical environments. I began volunteering at the Arizona Humane Society, where I provided daily care and enrichment for incoming and resident animals. I later worked as a veterinary assistant in a small animal general practice clinic for 4–5 years, gaining extensive experience with patient handling, client communication, and medical care in a fast-paced setting, while completing a bachelors in pre-veterinary medicine and a wildlife management certificate. To supplement my extensive academic training, I have pursued Fear Free Certification and Cat Friendly Veterinary Practitioner certification to better understand how to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in animals in the shelter and clinic environment. I carry those principles into every visit, prioritizing calm, low-stress care tailored to each pet’s individual needs and personality. In addition, I am fully bonded and insured, and I maintain independent professional coverage beyond Rover platform protections. Currently, I am progressing on completing the BLS/ALS CPR certification through the RECOVER Initiative (the evidence-based standard used in veterinary medicine) and I will officially have that achievement met on May 16th! Additionally, I am continuing to expand my Fear Free certification in the coming weeks to include a higher tier of canine/feline care and a broader range of species in general. I am comfortable administering medications through a variety of routes and have experience caring for multiple species, including dogs, cats, and backyard poultry such as chickens and turkeys. While the majority of my experience is within the small animal realm, I have additional experience with a variety of species. Providing these services are an extension of my training and long-term career in veterinary medicine. I strive to provide thoughtful, consistent care so you can feel confident that your pet is in capable hands. One of my goals is to maintain your pet’s routine, while also monitoring for subtle changes in behavior or health while you’re away. I am currently transitioning into a full-time veterinary assistant role in a clinic in Eugene, OR, but I will do my best to accommodate any services in my time outside of the clinic. Thank you for sticking around to learn about me. I’d love to meet your fur kids!

She did a great job & our pets all liked her. She was very communicative & it was great getting picture updates. We will use her again. I was pleased to see our house looked the same (or better) than the way we left it.

Jennifer was professional and an excellent caregiver for my pets. My dog, who can be standoffish, allowed Jenn to rub her belly and chest, a sure sign of trust. Also, my skittish cat came out to play with Jenn and that only usualy happens with close family members. Two of my pets take meds and Jenn did this with no issue. I will happily ask her back to care for my pets and house.
Jennifer is a wonderful pet parent, trustworthy and dependable veterinary assistant and diligent veterinary student. She took exceptional care of my pets and gave me the cutest pet report card afterwards! She truly went above and beyond, I have never felt so comfortable leaving my pets with someone!
