I need to address several serious issues I found when I got home because I’m extremely disappointed. The biggest concern is my dog’s care. You sent me photos and updates, but you never told me he wasn’t eating. That is critical information and something I needed to know immediately. Instead, I came home to vomit on my bed and rug, which means he had been sick. The first thing he wanted to eat when I got home was cucumber, which tells me there may have been other ways to encourage him to eat if I had simply been informed. If I had known he wasn’t eating, I could have given you other options and instructions. none of his vegetables were given to him apples, bananas, cucumbers, and there’s no excuse why he should not have been eating. He had plenty of options to eat, and you just ignored the fact that he’s been sick and not eating for. I don’t know how many days. I also found that the meat had been left open and spoiled instead of being properly sealed and cooked. The meals were also prepared incorrectly. The pieces of meat were cut so large that he couldn’t properly eat them, and instead of feeding him the correct balance of meat and frozen vegetables, his meals were almost entirely frozen vegetables with very little meat. That is not how I instructed his food to be prepared, and it’s not surprising that he struggled to eat it. Finding vomit on both the bed and the rug also makes me question how long he had been sick, especially since I was never informed that he wasn’t eating. Had you told me, I could have suggested alternatives, like giving him cucumber, apples, or the bananas which was the first thing he eagerly ate when I got home. The condition of my home when I returned was completely unacceptable. My bed was covered in sand. There was dog hair floating in his water bowl. There was urine on the floor, feces on the floor, and even feces on the blankets, suggesting he wasn’t cleaned properly after going to the bathroom. The house was left filthy despite my leaving cleaning supplies and explaining the importance of keeping things clean. not to mention there was bile all over my sheets. The fact that you didn’t even know it was bile concerns me were you even at the house staying with him how could you not physically see him get sick and upset. I’m also very upset that you ignored my feeding instructions. I specifically told you not to go through all of his chicken treats, yet all of them were gone after only four days. These are extremely dehydrating and he was extremely dehydrated when I got home. You also gave him essentially an entire container of his dog ice cream, even though I explained that he only gets one scoop at the end of the day. That container should have lasted close to a month. I hired you because I needed someone I could trust to care for both my dog and my home while keeping me informed of anything important. Sending cute pictures is appreciated, but it is not a substitute for communicating health concerns. Not telling me that my dog wasn’t eating prevented me from helping solve the problem while I was away. I trusted you with the most important thing in my life, and I came home to a sick dog, a filthy house, spoiled food, ignored instructions, and a complete lack of communication about issues that actually mattered. This experience has been incredibly upsetting and far below what I expected from a professional pet sitter.
