I also like to know how pets typically respond to walks, visitors, other animals, treats, handling, or being left alone. For cats especially, it’s helpful to know their hiding spots, social preferences, favorite toys or treats, and whether they prefer more interaction or quieter companionship. The more I understand about a pet’s routine and personality ahead of time, the easier it is for me to provide calm, attentive, and consistent care.

Activities will always depend on the pet’s personality, comfort level, age, and energy level. I enjoy calm neighborhood walks, interactive play, toys, treats, brushing if a pet enjoys it, and spending quality one-on-one time with animals at their own pace. For dogs, I enjoy walks, sniffing/exploration time, play, and reinforcing simple routines or commands consistently. For cats, I enjoy interactive toys, treats, brushing, quiet companionship, and giving them affection or space depending on what they’re comfortable with. My goal is to help pets feel relaxed, engaged, safe, and cared for while keeping their routines and comfort levels in mind.

I’ve been caring for pets for most of my life and genuinely enjoy spending time with both dogs and cats. I volunteered with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa for several years in high school, and over the years I’ve cared for animals with many different personalities, comfort levels, and energy levels. Those experiences have helped me become calm, attentive, patient, and comfortable adjusting to each pet’s individual needs. I especially enjoy calm neighborhood walks, attentive care, brushing if a pet enjoys it, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I’m comfortable reinforcing routines and simple commands consistently, and I enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and comfort level. I tend to do best with calm to moderate-energy pets and focus on creating a relaxed, positive experience for them.
