I am generally not one to write a bad review. Normally I just let things go, but this involved two innocent dogs who deserved better. I write this not to throw Jeni under the bus, as I very much liked her and thought she would be a great fit for our dogs while we were out of town for a week. But, I feel her Rover bio was very misleading for in-home care. We picked her specifically because she indicated in her bio she strived to stick to the family’s routine, as much as possible, and had the flexibility to work from home. We told her we worked from home, and that our dogs were not used to being alone for more than 4-5 hours, and that happened rarely. One of our dogs is a large very high energy 1 year old and due to his inability to not counter surf, he is still in a kennel when we leave the house. To make a long story short, we discovered through use of our house cameras (which we were sure to tell her about) that the she had left the dogs for 13 hours (7am – 8:40pm) with one 20 minute break at 4:40pm for dinner and to go outside. We had to call in family to come in and let the dogs out and play with them, because 13 hours is unacceptable (if not due to an emergency). We ultimately had to find a new sitter while trying to enjoy our vacation. I would not recommend Jeni for overnight care, unless your pets are used to being alone for long stretches of time.

Jeni was so excellent taking care of our 2 boys! One of our guys is particularly finicky about eating but needs to to get his medicine and Jeni did a great job of making him comfortable. She kept us updated nightly and sent pictures. We will definitely book Jeni the next time we go out of town.
