Pet care experience

Registered Veterinary Technician

I offer the peace of mind that only a 26-year veteran RVT can provide. My business is built on clinical expertise, deep empathy, and a 'quality-first' approach to care—perfect for healthy pets whose owners demand the very best, as well as seniors and medically fragile pets. As a breast cancer survivor, I have adopted a mindful, low-impact approach to care. I do not provide high-energy play or fast-paced walks; instead, I focus on 'Sniff Safaris,' gentle engagement, and calm, one-on-one bonding. If your pet thrives with a steady, watchful, and nurturing hand, I would be honored to care for them.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I am a firm believer that pets—especially seniors and those with chronic health conditions—thrive best in the security of their own homes. Removing a vulnerable pet from their environment often introduces unnecessary stress, which can negatively impact their health. When I care for your pet in your home, I operate with the same rigor and compassion I’ve practiced for 26 years in the veterinary field. My approach is holistic: * Routine Integrity: I strictly adhere to your established feeding, medication, and behavioral routines to provide a sense of normalcy and stability. * Medical Vigilance: I don’t just 'check in'; I observe. Whether it’s monitoring mobility, appetite, or specific clinical markers, I am constantly assessing your pet’s well-being. * Environmental Comfort: I maintain a calm, 'Fear-Free' atmosphere, ensuring your pet feels safe and respected. My goal is to be a seamless, calming extension of your care—providing your pet with the comfort of their own home, and providing you with the peace of mind that a seasoned medical professional is watching over them.

Dog Walking • Feb 12, 2023

Jennifer has walked our dog, Dexter for us multiple times now. She is incredibly reliable, gives thorough updates, and is great with Dexter. We’re so grateful that we met Jennifer and for the attention she puts into making sure Dexter is well taken care of on long days. We would recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for help with their pets!

Another great walk/visit with Jennifer! My work schedule can be a little hectic and I don't always know in advance if I'll need someone to come check on/walk our dog, Dexter. Jennifer has always been so accommodating of my last minute requests, which I really appreciate. Additionally, Jennifer has our routine down and I always trust her in our home and with our pets. She's very responsive and sends thorough report cards after her visits.

Such an amazing lady and cat sitter❣️ My fur baby was well taken care of. Twice a day feeding, playtime, cuddles, and chin scratches. I received several pictures twice a day which allowed me to thoroughly enjoy my vacation. I thought Jennifer was special when we first met - she confirmed it by truly caring for my girl❣️?‍⬛

Jennifer is great! First and most importantly you could absolutely tell she cares about the animals. She sent great pictures of the important tasks as well as a succinct report that quickly built my confidence in her. Her personality is friendly and warm and her reports were cute to read. I will definitely schedule her next time I go out of town.

Jennifer is a great pet sitter! She cared for our cat for 6 days. She was consistent with the time of day she stopped by for feedings and made sure to send us plenty of pictures of our special girl. Our cat is pretty shy, but it didn't take long for Jennifer to make friends with her. Jennifer was able to pet her belly too! ? That's pretty amazing! This was our first experience having Jennifer watch our cat and we will be booking with her in the future.

Schedule

I work part-time from home, which grants me the flexibility to prioritize your pets' specific schedules above all else. Whether your pet requires timed medication, frequent monitoring, or simply the comfort of a consistent presence, I am able to tailor my day to meet their needs rather than the other way around. My schedule is built to provide reliable, responsive care, ensuring that your 'fur babies' receive the same level of dedicated attention at home that they would receive in a clinical setting.

Cats
0 to 15 lbs

Because I specialize in geriatric, chronically ill, and medically fragile pets, I perform a 'Pre-Care Assessment' for every new client. To ensure I can provide the highest standard of care, I need to understand your pet's baseline and boundaries. Please share the following with me ahead of time: • Medical & Health Status: Current medications (including dosages and administration times), known health conditions, any history of mobility issues, and the contact information for your regular veterinarian and any emergency specialists. • Behavioral Baseline: What makes your pet feel safe? What are their 'triggers' or stressors (e.g., loud noises, specific handling, strangers, or other animals)? What is their body language when they are uncomfortable? • Routine & Preferences: What is their typical daily schedule? Are there specific 'do’s and don’ts' regarding their habits, diet, or house rules? • Handling & Comfort: Are there areas they prefer not to be touched? Do they have any mobility aids (harnesses, ramps, orthopedic beds) that I should be familiar with? • Your Expectations: Beyond the basics, is there anything specific you are working on? Whether it is continuing physical therapy exercises, practicing loose-leash walking, or simply ensuring they get their favorite daily puzzle toy, I want to align my approach with your goals. My goal is to be a seamless extension of your home care. The more I know about your pet’s unique personality and medical needs, the more effective and comfortable I can be as their primary advocate while you are away.
