Pet care experience

Your dog's vacation, while you play

I’ve had dogs my entire life, and for the past 25 years I’ve especially enjoyed fostering and having a multi-dog household. I’m an RN, so I’m very comfortable providing whatever care or assistance your dog may need during their stay, including medications or other special care instructions. I currently have three dogs of my own, all spayed/neutered, and they genuinely enjoy having other dogs around. I have one male who is about 45 pounds and two females who are about 25 and 45 pounds. They are an important part of our family and are very accustomed to welcoming new dogs into the house. My home is set up with dogs in mind, with plenty of space and comfortable places for them to relax, play, and have their own quiet time. I’ve learned over the years that every dog is different, and my goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and peaceful environment where everyone can feel at home.

Jennifer is an absolutely incredible pet caregiver, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She recently took care of my dog, Bear, while we were abroad, and the level of love and responsibility she showed was truly exceptional. Bear is a 105-pound big dog and can sometimes be a handful—especially since he tends to bark at bicycles—but Jennifer handled him with the utmost patience and care. What sets Jennifer apart is her genuine commitment to the dogs in her care. She treats Bear like a member of her own family, ensuring he gets plenty of exercise, affection, and attention. She even took him to the dog park, which he absolutely loved! Throughout his stay, Jennifer was so sweet and sent us pictures every day, which gave us immense peace of mind while we were away. It was incredibly comforting to see him looking so happy and completely relaxed. Jennifer is deeply responsible, reliable, and highly attentive to detail. She followed all care instructions perfectly, demonstrating a level of professionalism that is rare to find. She understands that big dogs have unique needs, and she tailored her approach to make sure Bear felt safe, secure, and loved. If you are searching for a trustworthy, loving, and dedicated pet sitter on Rover, Jennifer is the perfect choice. Bear absolutely adores her, and we will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you, Jennifer, for taking such wonderful care of our big boy!

We have trusted Jen with our dogs for over 10 years. She has provided multi-day care for our senior dogs and also our dog who needed medical care. She is the ultimate professional: dependable, communicative, conscientious. At the same time, she adores all dogs (and they love her) and took great care in making sure all the dogs in her care were a good fit with each other before committing to taking our dogs in. When our dogs stay with her, they get excited the moment we pull up, and rush into her home. Her home is set up like a sanctuary for dogs with ample yard space and cozy indoor nooks. Jen is not just a dogsitter, she is passionate about dogs and it shows.

Jen is the best! There's no one I'd rather have looking after my pup. She's so fun, and so understanding when it comes to looking after my rowdy bundle of chaos. I cannot recommend Jen enough!

I have known Jenn for over 15 years. She has fostered many dogs for a rescue group CAPE (Center For Animal Protection and Education) , and for the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, which makes her a very trusted and dedicated animal advocate. She makes sure every dog she cares for feel secure and loved. Jenn is a good reader of body language and knows how to make a dog feel comfortable, never asking them to do more than what is appropriate for that individual dog. If your dog is looking for an adventure Jenn is your gal, if your dog needs cuddle time, she is an expert at that too. She is a super devoted dog mamma with her own pack and will make your dog feel right at home too.

Jenn is the best, Jenn loves dogs and also volunteers at shelters and fosters dogs. We have a large German Shepard and he loved Jenn and loved his vacation at Jenn’s home and going to the dog park and adventures daily. Has unsurpassed knowledge of dogs of all sizes, I trust her completely. Our dog did great with Jenn and I would recommend her care without any reservations.

Schedule

I work 20–30 hours a week, primarily from mid-afternoon into the evening, so I have most of my mornings and early afternoons free to spend with the dogs in my care. I have three dogs of my own who play well together and with other dogs, but also enjoy being lounge potatoes. 🐾 When I’m at work, I leave the door to the backyard open so the dogs can go outside whenever they need to relieve themselves, get some sunshine, or simply enjoy being outdoors. Before I leave for work, we have plenty of time for exercise and fun. Depending on the weather, we might head to the beach, go for a hike, or visit the dog park. If it’s too hot or the weather isn’t cooperating, we’ll take a quick neighborhood walk and then spend time playing inside or relaxing and cuddling on the couch. Over the years, besides always having a multi-dog household, I’ve fostered more than 65 dogs with all kinds of personalities, ages, backgrounds, and needs. That experience has taught me how different every dog can be and how important it is to let them settle in at their own pace. I’m very comfortable helping dogs through the initial awkwardness of being away from their people and home, and I’m happy to give them the patience, reassurance, attention, and affection they need to feel comfortable. I also keep a close eye on the dogs in my care and am very attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or anything else that might indicate they aren’t feeling quite themselves. My goal is for every dog staying with me to feel safe, loved, included, and like they’re having their own little vacation while their family is away.

Safety, trust & environment

My house is definitely a dog-friendly home! My dogs are welcome on the couches and beds, and I have plenty of cozy dog beds and pillows scattered throughout the house for everyone to find their favorite spot. If your dog enjoys being around other dogs and can be trusted to have some time alone in the house, they’ll fit right in and have a fantastic time here. When I’m not at work, I spend the majority of my time with my dogs and the dogs staying with me. They are welcome to hang out wherever we are, whether that means playing together, lounging in the backyard, or snuggling up on the couch. My backyard is fully fenced with a 6-foot picket fence, and both gates have deadbolts for extra security. I also have cameras around the house so I can check in on the dogs while I’m away. Honestly, that’s mostly how I catch them stretched out on the grass with their bellies in the sun, enjoying a good afternoon siesta! ☀️🐶 I’m also very comfortable caring for dogs with medical needs. I don’t mind giving medications, following special instructions, or providing extra attention and care when a dog needs it. My goal is to make your dog feel comfortable, safe, loved, and right at home while you’re away.
