I have always owned huskies, so my yard is good sized for plenty of running space and is fenced all the way around with dig boards to prevent anyone from escaping. If I'm caring for a pet at their own home, I will do a quick walk thru of the property with the owner to know all the rules for their pet and get a sense of their daily routine to make sure all bases are covered.

It's important to run thru their day/schedule, and anything that they are expecting, any needs they might have so that their routine isn't disrupted by their parents absence, like meal times, treat times, sleep times, bathroom times, etc. I also ask about food or treat restrictions/allergies, if they're taking any meds or have any special needs, vet info, if they can go to dog parks (good with other dogs, good with other people), if they walk well on a leash, if they have any nervous habits to watch for, like chewing, digging, etc. I also like to gain an understanding of their house rules around whether they are allowed on furniture, where they are accustomed to sleeping, to keep consistent with that. I also ask how/if they communicate bathroom needs so I can watch for their signs.
A typical day
I love playing with dogs, whether it's running around in the yard with them, taking them for walks or playing with toys. I also love playing with them inside, playing mental games, teaching them new tricks and commands and practicing ones they already know.

I have owned dogs my entire life and have always been a dog lover. As soon as I lived on my own, I owned dogs of my own my entire adult life. I've owned dogs from puppies, thru their senior years and thru end of life care. I've owned dogs with special needs, such as seizures, extremely skittish around people, high anxiety, etc. I've cared for a wide variety of dog breeds, of varying sizes and ages. They tend to warm up to me pretty quickly.

Jen and her family were amazing dog sitters! They took such good care of my dogs and sent me daily photo updates, which really gave me peace of mind while I was away. I could tell my dogs were happy and well cared for. I truly appreciate all the love and attention they gave them. Highly recommend!

Jennifer was incredible. My dog is sweet, but can be tricky as he gets nervous and she did a fabulous job making BOTH of us extremely comfortable. I could relax while out of town as I knew that Gus was safe and receiving so much love and care. When I went to pick Gus up, it was clear he had a wonderful time and was relaxed. I plan to book with Jennifer again the next time I need someone to watch my dog.
