Typically clients provide a lockbox code or a copied key for me to access their home, and their beloved animals. When applicable, I love taking dogs out for walks with a leash and (preferrably) harness they are accustomed to.

I find it most beneficial to know about any obedience cues the clients are working on so that I can reinforce those behaviors. Additionally, any known triggers are helpful to know prior to petsitting.
A typical day
Dogs need mental stimulation just as much as physical! With walks, basic obedience, play with toys, and (when applicable) cuddles, I look forward to fullfill your dog's daily needs.

I am a CCPDT certified dog trainer! I don't say that to brag but to say right off the bat that I consider the welfare of pets to be very important. I specifically love working with shy pups! Currently I live with a lab mix and 3 goofy cats. But I have lived with dogs and cats my entire life. I studied video editing and worked in New York City for several years before taking a break to work with animals. Since then I have worked for dog daycares, board and train facilities, rehabilitation centers, as well as with individual clients in their homes. One of the most fascinating things to me about dogs and cats is how they interact. They have their own distinct way of communicating, and not everyone takes the time to decode and understand that language. I am by no means fluent in that language, but I'm always trying to learn! For me there is nothing quite like gaining a bonded relationship with a trusting and loving pet.
